I’ve been reading about him and it does actually sound like a very good appointment.

The main thing here is, it looks like we have a plan for once and we desperately need some structure.

I hope everything is announced soon and we can start to look forward, hopefully before Saturday.

I get the sentiment but you’ve got to look beyond that, if his remit is to develop players he’s clearly done that, the first team is out of his responsibilities.

We get talent in that never quite cuts it, imagine a fella bringing them along.

We haven’t sold to Dortmund for £30million.

They need to get this takeover through asap to put an end to the ever growing negativity from certain parties, also to start putting some pride back in the club. I drove through the car park yesterday and the way the area has been allowed to become tatty and overgrown is embarrassing

This. I’m taking the fact that a guy in a long term, decent job at a stable Championship club is willing to drop down a League suggests whoever is calling the shots has impressed him and shown him good ambition.

Haha! He might be. I get your point about igniting imaginations but thats very subjective. Personally, I would see someone like Pearson, for example, as a massive disappointment. So, there will always be someone who doesn't like the choice. I suppose really, the club has to find someone that excites as many people as possible and is technically competent. It concerns me though that there is a big element of our fanbase who would prioritise a 'name'

We would all be happy seeing more of the 2 Jordan’s exit as opposed to the Mumba and Pye pittance we been receiving.

If we have a fella developing and selling talent then the club becomes sustainable and grows.

We all want that. If and when we get to a level we can keep them long term, even better.

If it helps to grow the club why not. Look how many young players Southampton sold on in their rise back through the leagues. Selling players isn't the problem, it's what you do with the proceeds, keep reinvesting and it might just work.
It will also say to young players that we can improve them and we will give them a chance for a crack at the big time if the money is right

Roker report have done an article on him, he has a policy of 5 academy graduates in the first team matchday squad, I can see now why Poyet said no he wasnt going to have as much power as he wanted. Fully expect the new appointment to be called a Head Coach rather than manager
