Saw him at a golf event once. He was next to us going through a gate and I let him go first. He said thank you. Therefore he is a nice gentleman and I reserve my right to defend him. Did have some daft bloody hair mind. Says the man with no worries about the cost of a barber anymore.
It’s basically me adding 2+2 and getting the most logical answer. I’ve told one person on here and another well respected poster on RTG. If I’m right it’s investment, therefore buying a big chuck of shares, but not a takeover. Just guessing but I think that could come later depending on what happens over the next few years. One thing seems certain, KLD isn’t in a rush to do anything and it all seems planned out which makes the Beale situation even more difficult to fathom. Someone suggested he’d come in as a temporary manager while someone else became available but that’s guesswork as well. I don’t know if you’ve ever been in a work situation like this before but I’ll try to explain. Until the last few years I was an estate manager/right hand man to Sheikhs, Oligarchs, UHNW, types. Because it’s a strange world, whereby you don’t speak to them directly, you end up forming close ties to their PAs, lawyers, etc. After a while you find out ‘where the bodies are buried’ and are slightly implicated because of how you're paid, what underhand methods you’ve used and who you’ve had to engage with. So you give away secrets to receive secrets and sometimes you're guessing but making it sound genuine. So the other person divulges something and so it goes on, you end up staying in touch with people even when you’re no longer employed. Because of all the NDAs, and implied retribution, people can only get things off their chest by talking to someone they know can’t blab. It’s like an Alcoholics Anonymous help group at times I’m not ‘important’ any more but I pretend to still be connected, to various houses, which encourages people to tell me things that I sometimes pretend I’m already aware of. The Sheikh’s gardener was at the Argyll/Wembley and laughing about some of the stuff still going on. He knows I won’t repeat anything which is a shame, it’s quite entertaining. The Sheikh is Mansour’s cousin and Cris has been there over 30 years so ‘a trustee’, if he’s asked to disable the CCTV he knows something mad is about to happen! Sorry for the ramble, I’m waiting for a wine delivery so sat in the basement and quite bored … … that’s about my level of responsibility these days
That's no problem mate. I am half a world away and hear very little these days, but for what it is worth I am in agreement with you about the investment angle. Not sure exactly how that will be made (share option, stadium naming rights, sponsor or affiliated partner) or who it is. I did hear a long time ago just before KLD first purchased his controlling shares that a deal may well come to fruition if the club was successful. I was told back then (not sure how true this was) by somebody who did get a fair bit right, that these were very serious people. This was not long after the Dell deal had fell through and there was a lot of noise about Repsol coming on board. The guy basically told me he believed that it money from Abu Dhabi and when KLD came in and the family links to Adnoc this started to make sense. It may just me putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5 again but it is the close season so a bit of gossip and some crap detective work is definitely called for
