If it isn’t to be Still then the club need to stick to their guns and do the same thing for the next man. Go ambitious and be prepared to tweak the model to suit. Can’t go “all in” for Still but if he says no then go back to type and have another Beale type appointment.
Yep. Respect the club for offering Still what he wants but I can't see him coming now, so we simply have to do the same for whoever is next on the list.
Despite my negativity towards Robinson, yes. Can't say to Robinson "look we offered Still everything he wanted but he said no, so here's Dodds and a couple of 17y/o signings go make it work"
Depends what they've offered him, if you ask me. Changes to the club structure, for example, would be beyond the pale for me. I think there has to be a limit to what you offer people, no matter who they are, or you're being held to ransom.
Oh of course. I'm a big believer in structure. I'd just hope the candidates who would want structural change would be weeded out early in the process.
To be fair, I think they definitely would have. In the same way that I don't think Still would have been targeted if the club weren't willing to let him bring his own staff. I'm just uncomfortable with this idea of giving someone everything that they want. It's difficult to know what that means exactly, but I'd be concerned that it could mean the club going too far.
Very fair concerns. In my opinion anyway I think the demands would be down to wages and staff coming with Still mainly, which would be pretty reasonable.
