So why be part of the whole WMS fanzine thing? Also, if you honestly believe that nobody cares, then do an assassination piece about the new manager after they are named - you might be surprised, or then again maybe not because, like shock jocks, isn't reaction the whole WMS raison de etre?
That’s where I’m with it too.Cowley wouldn’t be my choice but enough people I respect like him for me to give him a chance. I don’t know enough about him to be against him.
We do it because it’s a laugh and a social thing too. Something to do, isn’t it? We’ve done some great stuff together and met lots of new people and made new friends. Been privileged enough to experience some things we wouldn’t have had we not done WMS. We’d do it if 100 people listened. I think ‘shock jocks’ is a bit harsh. I’d like to think we get the balance right, but we definitely won’t every time.
I can understand pessimism if Parkinson had remained, the takeover collapsed and the whole sorry state was to continue.
But we have a new manager, new owners and the possibility that we'll still have an investment from FPP.
Despite this some people just can't take a day off from all the conspiracy theories, sly denigration of the new owner and doom laden stories of how Methven will be running the club. There are clubs on the verge of going under so, whichever was you twist things, we've had a massive stroke of good fortune.
Other clubs must look at Sunderland forums/fanzines and wonder if the claims of the support being 'toxic' are true. Managers, who will never be employed, are being criticised in advance just to get in a few punches before the chance is missed. Players, long since gone, are berated. And improbable scenarios are constructed on the flimsiest of hints and hunches.
Some people have far too much time on their hands.
Sounds to me like he’s just assuming that the FPP loan needs resolving
I wouldn't. Why would you be happy swapping ****e with ****e?
I want to see us perform and to see us going at teams.
Ooer......Smug, what you've not realised is that Methven is actually a member of the Illuminati, using SAFC as a cover for various nefarious schemes to bring about the end of days and only getting him out of the club will prevent Satan from walking the Earth causing mayhem and misery to all.

They will also be the people who refuse the covid vaccine because the government are putting chips in them so they can control them like robotsI can understand pessimism if Parkinson had remained, the takeover collapsed and the whole sorry state was to continue.

Cobber mate ya flamin’ galah, we’ve been shambolic for a lot lot longer than 12-18 months. Our gradual state of decay has been going on for decades.Tale of 2 forums eh?
If you’re positive on RTG you get slated.
If you’re negative here, you get slated.
There isn’t much in between!
Given a lot of people probably began posting here due to the constant negativity and trolling on RTG it’s probably not surprising this forum is on the positive end of the spectrum.
I think people have a right to be skeptical - the club has been so shambolic for the past 12-18 months we are all truly hoping for a clean slate. This takeover is clearly going to be a massive shake up but it’s not quite a clean slate. At this stage Methven & Donald will still be involved in some capacity, 2 people who have asset stripped the club to within an inch of its life, appointed their mates, appointed Parky, and have lied and abused the fan base continuously. Then there’s Rodwell, an operator who was instrumental in seeing half of the season ticket holders not renew after ballsing up the refund scheme on 3 different occasions. Rodwell was also vocal in advocating for a short term bailout from the premier league Big 6 and effectively selling off our right to ever compete in the Premier League.
These 3 cannot be trusted and until the new structure is sorted, people will ask questions. I don’t buy the “wait until it’s done then complain” argument, by then it could be too late. This isn’t just the fanzines pushing their skepticism, journalists and ex players have all shared their concerns. If you’re going to dismiss all of these that’s up to you but it’s clear why skepticism is about. Before Madrox took over anyone who expressed any skepticism was absolutely piled on, until we know the new structure and appointments there is no reason why people can’t ask questions.
I am certainly skeptical, but incredibly excited. I think all the managerial front runners all have their positive attributes and I could get behind any of them. The sporting director appointment is as exciting as it is crucial and that appointment will be more telling than the manager in my opinion.
It’s ok to be skeptical, being totally dismissive and calling it a sham (which I’ve seen) is clearly going overboard and that’s not constructive.

I agree with nearly everything you said mate other than the bit about not wanting to wait and see before we can judge and complain.Tale of 2 forums eh?
