I’ve said the name I believe mate, Poyet, but I wouldn’t really go off the betting odds, someone could Chuck 400 quid on a name and smash the odds out the water, like last year everyone who had the interview on that day become favourites, I believe by law ( I might be wrong) You have to advertise a job, even if someone is already lined up for it
Don’t think too much should be read into the title “Sporting Director” just yet seeing it came from a translation from the l’equipe article.
I find it hard to believe his 5% share will give him a controlling voice it just means he will have a small voice which he undoubtedly likes to hear on any media platform which will listen to him. If he keeps spouting the same **** he has been then hopefully the new majority sharholders will ensure that he keeps his trap shut.
I think the point people have been making with Methven is that despite his small shareholding (I believe it is 6%), he had the confidence of the majority shareholder and played a key role in the board. It's not that his 6% gave him any particular clout. And that's the worry some folk have now, that Sartori, Donald and Louis-Dreyfus will place their confidence in him, regardless of his shares. I personally hope he has no role at all. Anyone who clearly thinks so little of the fan base shouldn't be in any role at the club.
TBH mate, I'll not spend any time worrying about Methven. If he becomes an influential part of the club the supporters will let their feelings known. As things stand, I just don't see the point of concerning myself with the louse.
Well, Donald ain't Santa, so may be. Anyway you can have lots of amusement at his name. Charlie Methane sounds like the nickname of a flatulent Italian American gangster. Crystal Methven (crystal meth) - sounds good, but too much like a low class stripper in a sleazy lap dancing club (so perfect for him really!) Charlie Meth-Oven - like a cheap drug dealer. There's bound to be more
So why be part of the whole WMS fanzine thing? Also, if you honestly believe that nobody cares, then do an assassination piece about the new manager after they are named - you might be surprised, or then again maybe not because, like shock jocks, isn't reaction the whole WMS raison de etre?
I'm not particularly concerned right now. Any worry I do have isn't for the damage his return could lead to but rather what it would say about the competence of the other shareholders. Fingers crossed though.
