I find the term "yes man" an interesting one. I'm self employed, but when I contract at various companies I have a "boss" who asks me to do things and I do what I'm paid to do. Does that make me a yes man? Is being a yes man a bad thing? Are we all supposed to rail against authority to prove we are our own man?
If we hire a Head Coach who says yes to Speakman and gets us promoted whilst doing so then ****ing brilliant.
I think the term is more aimed at someone you’d see as a ****house who wouldn’t stand up to something they feel is wrong. They’ll just say yes to whatever their boss asks them to do because they’re scared of stepping out of line.
