Aye no good signing a 3 year deal to cry in November about recruitment, I’m going to cling to there’s no way after all this time they panic and go for a ‘yes man’
We aren’t going for Stephen Robinson surely? I’d be surprised if he was even mentioned once by the club or even in the top 20 candidates. Really strange link
You think? We’d get that back for Jobe alone. Seelt looked decent. Pembele looked very good as he finally got some fitness. Rusyn we’d easy see money back. Mundle & Aouch have certain potential. Triantis by all accounts grew like **** on loan. ‘where the players what we needed’ No. ‘Did we get value for money?’ Absolutely. I’d be confident we’d at least double the spend selling all of those, way more if we develop them another year or more.
Good post, I'm particularly interested in seeing how triantis does if we accommodate him and perservere with his role as a defensive central midfielder which is where he's been playing last games
A bit off track here but I agree, we’d get at least £10m for Jobe. If he is to stay we need to pick a position for him and stick to it, if he’s struggling in a game then replace him…not try and shoehorn him into some other position disrupting the whole team.
I think that's why he got a bit of stick at times last season but that's not his fault, the kid had a great season considering the amount of positions he played. He will be looking at double figures nxt season and he really did seem to love it here.
I wouldn't sell him as I think another year with us and his stock will rise, yes he got more game time than he deserved last season but the lad is a talent that will only get better. On a long contract so we can afford to give him time
Jobe can play for sure and his rise will continue. I’ve said before I’d make him a 9 and focus on that and u stand by it. He could be a monster forward.
If KLD and Speakman have not done a good job why is it that we could potentially sell more than half the team to Premier league teams for big MONEY , or do the Premier League have the same problem as us and always recruit badly . Reality is that the clubs squad is now not filled with has been and mercenaries but with players with potential compared to our recent past where other clubs were not interested in any of our players unless we were giving them away . Mistakes have been made probably due to the enormity of the task they faced but I for one think the club is in a lot better position than we have been in for many years but their again I have only been supporting SAFC for 63 years so what Would I know !!!
The issue more than likely isn't the lads we've brought in, but the amount of unproven lads combined with no one else...in fact we lost valuable players in the meantime.
I don't think we have that bad of a team really, a couple of additions and a coach to galvanise them and we will be playoffs easily. The team had no direction when dodds took over, put a decent coach in and we'll fly
It does mate, 2 different reasons as to why the deal hasn't happened, I've not a clue which one is the right one, if either
