Thought I would throw a thread up for people to suggest upcoming coaches we should be monitoring. Not that I am in any rush to see Mowbray gone, but some seem to be willing to try someone else. Who then would you nominate and why? The why bit is important. Plenty of young ex players starting their coaching journeys. Fabregas, Yaya, Van Persie. Loads of others finished recently who have done the badges. Just throwing these names as the suggestion is we are going european.
The 3 that were allegedly short listed in the summer are now elsewhere so rule those out. Here's one: Jack Wilshere. Why?: watch the "Back Home" series on YouTube which documents him coaching the arsenal youth. He's going to be a really good coach and its a matter of time before someone takes a chance on him. Other suggestion from me would be Bo Svensson.
I said it a few weeks back but I will say it again. I watch a lot of German football, got into it a few years back and just prefer it overall to our game so my suggestion was Fabian Hürzeler, St Pauli head coach in the German second division. Top of the league and unbeaten this season. Took over during the world cup break last season and while St Pauli were in the bottom half and took them on a 10 game winning run and ended the season in 5th. This season they have played 16 won 10 and drew 6 in all competitions, average 2 goals a game and have only conceded 12 goals. Plays a very high intensity 3-4-3 which generates a lot of shots and good chances from turnovers in good areas. Only 30 years old with good pedigree as he has been on the coaching staff of multiple German national youth teams.
What about the young Hoeness? Out of out league? Do you think someone like Thiago Motta would be out of our league as well?
I think both probably abit out of our reach but everyone wants to coach in the prem and obviously there is only 20 spots so going to a high end championship club is a good route to get in
Now I think about it more I just can't see us poaching another teams manager. It'll be someone available. That'll be one of the filters applied to the search engine. Will Still would be a shout to but probs a bit unrealistic
I dont agree with that. If we are looking in the available pool that smacks of no forward planning. Everything about this new ownership and mgt structure smacks of 12, 24, 36 months planning horizons. Way too early to be a conversation but Fabregas interests me. When I listen to him he is so much more in tune with tactics than most pindits. Another who is ultra intelligent about football is David Silva.
I think the club are aligned to a coach who plays a 433/4231 approach. Or a 4123. By Speakmans own admission. Fabregas is a 442 man. Or a 424. His masterclass on coaches voice was good though but I don't think he'll be our man. Struber, and Farioli were unemployed and Jaissle was in the process of leaving Salzburg. Mowbray was unemployed. As was alex neil and Lee Johnson. Last time we poached a manager was Jack Ross. Demechelis and Tevez are doing well in Argentina.
Upcoming coaches, typical isn't it ... ... no coaches for ages then two come along together Ha'way lads, this is comedy gold
It's not unreasonable. He represents everything wrong with English footballers. All the talent, none of the application. Would we want someone like that influencing our young players?
