Were not man u tbf and his PPG isn't that bad there.

I've no idea who will come in but fail to win 2 of the next 3 and the pressure is really on. We're 4 point adrift of the top 6 tonight.

Would the club go for someone already in a job? I’m not sure they would.

and as said in the other thread, there’s no way he’d leave the situation he’s in now to come here.

Everyone is going to be totally onboard with this suggestion, @FellTop in particular, I know, is a massive fan...

...Roy Keane until the end of the season with a 1 year extension if we get playoffs! The young lads would be in awe of him and he's got a championship promotion on his CV...what could possibly go wrong!?

Or doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.

Looking back, the change in the summer would have been the different approach that might have yielded a different result. It would have taken a very brave chairman to do it though.

Would they? By my calculations he retired 17 year ago, so with an average age of 21 most of our first team wouldn still have been in awe of anyone playing peekaboo when he was playing in his prime.

I get a feeling ya post was tongue in cheek like!

Lee Carsley, England u21 coach and Anthony Barry, Bayern and Belgium assistant manager are interesting shouts. I believe we were linked with Barry before appointing Mowbray.

    Anthony Barry is the man.

He became assistant manager of Wigan in 2017 at the age of 31 and helped Paul Cook to win League One impressively.

He studied for his Pro licence alongside Frank Lampard in 2020 and qualified with the top marks in the group. He did a dissertation called "The undervalued set-piece" in which he analysed all 16,000+ throw ins taken in the Premier League over a year to conclude the optimal approaches. The dissertation was published. On the back of this, Lampard took him to Chelsea as his assistant.

He was a Chelsea assistant to Lampard, Potter and Tuchel with the latter describing his work on set pieces as "far more advanced than anything I've seen". Tuchel then persuaded Bayern to pay Chelsea compensation to take Barry with him there.

In addition to his club work, Barry has also been involved with international set ups. He was an assistant for Republic of Ireland before working for both Belgium and Portugal under Roberto Martinez.

Barry has turned down head coaching jobs in the past to develop himself as a coach, learning from the best and absorbing different cultures.

A 37 year old, hugely rated coach, with a background steeped in analysis, development, attention to detail and tactics.

We may have to wait until the end of the season to get him, but he's the top target.

This is an in depth article on his rise from Wigan to Chelsea if anyone wants to read more. He's very highly respected.

How do you know that he's the top target? Or are you guessing.

Furthermore, why would he leave Portugal this year when there is the euros in the summer?
