Training is going well thanks chaps. Will be stocking up on carbs and protein tonight ahead of the 21 miles I plan on hitting tomorrow morning. Donations are going a little slower. I need to make more of an effort to ask people. I have people that are still planning on donating to me, people in the office, waiting for payday. My best mate who is currently in Japan, need to wait for him to get back from travelling etc. I've had far more donations from you lovely people on here then I could have imagined.
Now`s the time to strike - the mean sods will all be euphoric and emotional after Rickie`s winner against, err, who ever it was. They`ll be suckers for a few bob.
Must have been a bitter-sweet [or sweet-bitter] moment for you last Wednesday night, Aberdeen. Which emotion came out on top, if I may ask..?
haha it took a while, but thankfully I have finished running by now! Just about managed 21 miles thanks FLT. Very much looking forward to the step back down to 15 miles this weekend. Then onto the big one the following week. Well not THE big one. But the longest run that I shall undertake prior to race day. 23 miles. But for now. I shall just bask in the glory of only having 15 to do this weekend
I think you're doing amazingly well. Are you a natural athlete or just doing all this running to prepare yourself for the charity run..?
Thanks, although you don't see the state I'm in when I finally stop after running for 3 or more hours This is all preparation for the charity run. I'm not a natural athlete, but I'm not new to running either. I have dabbled in cross-country running on and off since my school days, but over much shorter distances. I did the Great South Run last October and that was the furthest I had ever ran then (10 miles). So this is certainly a challenge!
Well fair play to you. If I had another tenner spare I'd part with it, but I haven't worked properly in 3 weeks, and funds are a little tight at the moment.
Not to worry, there's certainly no need to feel like you need to give any more! You have already been most generous! I shall however be harassing everyone at work tomorrow, payday means they can spare a penny or two!
I was disappointed Scotland lost SS, especially after going ahead twice - and losing the first going when a CB down, then two sloppy set-piece goals. England were the better team however, and if anyone was to score the winner against us, I`m glad it was Rickie. A bitter sweet moment if ever there was one, right enough - I`m glad he didn`t rub it in, by missing those other chances though ! I wanted a Rickie hat-trick, and a Scotland win 4-3.
