I wish I was recovering in warmer climates!! Hello Chaps and Chapettes. I'm still alive and my legs are both still attached which I think is a positive sign with 1 week and 4 days to go! I have given my knee a good old rest (with some cycled marathons in between) and in the last week or two have been easing back into jogging on the treadmill. All seemed to be going okay. So I moved on to a short jog to the higher impact tarmac. Thought that went well too. But today the pain in my knee has come back again. Unfortunately I think it was my own stupid fault and nothing to do with Sundays jog. I don't think jumping off of groynes on the beach at work today was a good idea... Anyhow. I'm going to rest it up again, in what time I have left, try and get some cardio in the swimming pool and hope for the best. I'm taking this marathon on either way, it would just be preferable to not have to be drugged up on pain killers to be able to do it! I have updated my sponsorship page with essentially the same story I've just told you here, and with an added photo of me looking spooked by my running number which came in the post this morning. Lucky number 6012! In terms of donations. I'm on £275, and am expecting some more donations in the next few days. But am delighted with it as it stands! Thanks again for all your support!
Wilson Kipsang Kiprotich has set a new marathon world record. (just realised this post fits better in here. )
And Mo Farah is looking at the possibility of running a time of under 2 hours for the Marathon. Blimey.
TBH he is very unlikely to do it - he hasn't run under 1 hour for the half marathon - plenty have but they still run 2.04 for the full marathon. To run a sub two hour marathon an athlete should probably be capable of running sub 57 for the half - we are a long way from that at the minute
