Oh..! And how does that go, FLT..? Perhaps you could spell it out for me because I can't be arsed to go there, as the saying goes.
Sorry chaps. Been a busy week...which, of course, includes training! Training is going well! I've got just over 8 weeks until the big day and I'm currently ahead of schedule (although I am aiming to run my final pre-marathon long distance run several miles further than suggested for novices like me). Managed to slog out 17 miles last weekend which was really really REALLY hard going. But I've recovered well and only have to do 13 this weekend before it bumps up again to 19 miles the following weekend. And a massive THANKYOU to all of you that have donated so far and kept this thread floating near the top. If anybody else would like to sponsor me, the link to do so is right here: http://www.justgiving.com/run-paul-alderton-run Thanks again
Afternoon Lamb. So so. Had a busy weekend and start to the week so had to miss out my long long run. However it was a drop back week anyway (every third week the distance drops back a bit e.g. Saturday 1 = 16m, Saturday 2 = 18m, Saturday 3 = 13m). And I'm ahead of schedule with where I need to be anyway. Building up to 19 miles this Saturday! A scary thought indeed!!
19 miles is daft. So is 16, 13, 26... In fact any number more than 2. People stop chasing you after about one mile so anymore is a waste.
Wow fair play to her. There is a young lad that when he turns up, always destroys the opposition and wins at a canter. Normally around 17 minutes. Think he's about 16! I haven't been to a parkrun in ages, as the weekend is when I get my long training runs in, but once this marathon training is finished, I'll look forward to getting back into short fast running again! I'm much better suited to it. I'm far too chunky for long distance running!
Oh and I managed 20 miles this morning! It's unbelievably hard work! My legs just give up working properly leaving me to hobble the last 4 miles or so. Really pleased I managed it though.
I overtook the wee girl with about 1k to go, then she came steaming back past me and finished in 18.53. That`s talent for you.
So while I'm here in France with little access, Lamballana let's your thread disappear to page 2? He's shocking! I thought of doing a run in your honour today, but it's too hot, so I didn't bother.
