Ok so you'd have moved Gomez wide left? Isn't that 442? Think that's what he did second half, just not with Gomez, who I don't think can play that role.
No it's really simple, just move Wickham away from upfront and put him on the left until half time. Back to the old system.

We've played it most of the season and kept both our flanks and defence safe, 10 minutes in with the players had on the pitch where they all know the system like the back of their hands. But he did nothing for 45 minutes and we lost the game in that half.
But instead we played this for 45 minutes from what it looked like

What a ****ing carcrash

, they bypassed our packed midfield by just by laying out to their left. As somebody said earlier, they weren't even looking for their man, they knew putting it their was making them two on one and they tortured us for 45minutes.
The result of not protecting PVA at all was this. (this from the first half only)

That's 9 chances including two assists from that side in 45 minutes. One simple change of moving Connor over then their fullback can no longer commit forward freely as he now has defensive responsibilities he didn't have before. With a little bit of deffencive duty for conner and they have to work like **** to get crosses in. Notice the lack of ball in from the otherside where rev was covered by AJ, AJ didn't even need to put a defensive shift in, just being where he was giving their left back a job to do stopping form attacking..
Can't believe I'm explaining it really, 40000 people could see PVA needed cover 10 minutes in, not after half time. Isla must have though all his Christmas came at once.
