We cant score goals, We've never even occupied an auto spot since we came into this league, only blind faith we can do it this year IMO, I dont think we we'll score enough to win enough games. Would take a considerable change in approach and players finding their shooting boots if so.
Watching last night and lost count of the number of times one of our players got the ball 20-25 yards out and instead of trying to take a defender on or make space and have a shot they turn straight away from goal and pass onto the wing

It seems Poyet is just a lower league Benitez.

Hi refusal wasn't down to his willingness to work with a DOF, the choice of his staff or the depth of 'vision' ...

... no, just like Rafa, it was all about the money.

He'd come if it was enough even if he had Bally as DOF and Taylor as coach.
How do you know it was down to money?

Good to see nothing has happened today after our main target fell through. Sunderland esque to have no plan B
We have no idea if poyet was even offered the job other than people saying it on here. They could of interviewed a few people for all we know.

If that's the case, then we have dodged a bullet and it was the same old Poyet and his massive ego

More and more people on this board seem to be coming round to the idea of the Cowlys. I’m one of them. I’m reminded of an unknown partnership that Hartlepool took a chance on. Clough and Taylor. I’m not suggesting the Cowlys would be as successful, that’d take a lot of doing! But there are similarities: an ability to recognise weak points, and able to accurately assess replacements, able to get the best out of players and adjust their tactics to suit their own team and the opposition. Clough and Taylor cut their teeth at lower levels, Hartlepool then Brighton. When they moved up to 2nd div Derby, who had been struggling to get promoted for about 5 years, they got rid of half the team and brought in successful replacements. If my failing memory is right, they took 2 players with them to derby. It didn’t bother them that they were bringing in players from a lower division because they had the ability to recognise talent. I have a feeling the Cowly brothers are of the same ilk. Only don’t blame me if I’m wrong!

Whoever it is, they need to be brave enough to try and win games, not settle for avoiding defeat like the last 2 managers

Must admit it would be very strange to go from Poyet to someone like Cook
I think we will just have to wait and see There is lots of speculation but most seem to be the usual suspects
Hopefully we have a plan
That is exactly what I'm getting at...from being very ambitious to just other, lower league, journeymen applicants. There is just something wrong with this but I can't put my finger on it ..Yet!

So what is your opinion based on then, if not the games you watched? The only other place you could get any info on them s by what others are saying, which is the same thing I'm doing as I haven't watched them.

And again an assumption about watching Mourinho. You have no idea how many times I've watched Chelsea, Inter, Madrid, Man U or Spurs so why even claim it?

I don’t remember clough and taylor lasting 5 minutes at Huddersfield. If they get it good luck to them, I’d rather have them than Johnson but there are better options out there. Remember when people were saying how Steve Cotteril would be great as an enthusiastic young coach working along side Howard Wilkinson

This.

We need a manager to be positive and get on the front foot and actually attack teams - not play 5 at the back and 2 holding midfielders against the worst defence in the league. I think the squad we have is good enough to do that - christ i still think Grigg can score a few IF (and a big IF) he gets the correct service into him. We've been woefully inadequate on that front ever since we signed Grigg. That leads onto another thing - recruitment - its no good buying players like Grigg without the first ****ing clue how we are going to play to his strengths.

Throws my hunch into a cocked hat then I suppose!

Not necessarily mate.

There's quite a bit of manipulation going on, in the media, so I may be wrong.

It seems someone's trying to stir things up and cloud the water.

Who knows what might happen.

I was told to 'stand by my bed' this morning, by the same journalist, and I'm still standing.
