Speakman and Alex Neil did not get on either by all accounts. Not a Speakman fan to be honest. I think he’s getting lots of the credit from Stuart Harvey’s excellent work.
But Speakman is the one that bought him here and has probably given him the freedom to provide that excellent work. Speakman doesn't need to get on with anyone, as long as he's providing what is best for the football club.

Harvey finds the players but he only does so under the direction from above. There's a reason Harvey wasn't signing the likes of Bennette, Triantis etc at Blackburn.

Neither of whom are established and recognised successful signings as of now tbh. Potential only at the moment.

I think what most people are saying is that they may not like him, but his job is not to be liked it is to do what is best for the club and at this present time he certainly appears to be doing that in a very professional manner. At work you don't have to be friends and you don't have to be enemies as long as their is a certain amount of respect and courtesy and an acknowledgment of a job well done. Which at the moment there seems to be. I work in construction and if there are not a few disagreements over the month (some heated) then really we would not be doing our jobs to ensure that the client gets the best that can be done and so I expect this from the people running the club, they must always be striving to achieve more.

TBH I've worked for years with certain people without ever being sure if I really liked them or not. I've had periods where I have liked them and others where I've hated them. It doesn't really matter ffs.

I worked with doormen I'd barely speak to, on the street, but as long as I could trust them to back me up in a bad situation we were best mates at work.

There's too much of this 'need to like' shyte these days, everyone wants to be best mates after half an hour of meeting.

Balls to that.

Some interesting news - Mowbray and Speakman not on the greatest of terms. (Working relationship stable however Mowbray not thrilled with news leaking about SAFC sounding out other coaches for the SAFC job).

I'm not reading too much into it, this is often the case in many working environments and as long as the people involved are professional and put the club first I don't see it being a problem. From the outside looking in, they both seem to come across as very professional individuals.

It's just as well we'd already sounded out Mowbray when he came.

I’ve dealt with a lot of successful folk in my work that aren’t likeable at all.

Doesn’t mean they aren’t respected. Someone being ruthless and sharp can often come off as being sharp and lacking emotion.

Many a person I’ve thought ‘you’re a prick but **** me you’re impressive’

Pretty sure some of the folk I work with think similar to be honest <laugh>

So, looking at latest comments from Mowbray:

Evans, Alese & Stewart all miss start of the season
Cirkin, Embo & Seelt all miss start of pre-season but "should" be ready by the start of the season

Really hope we don't have another season like last
Akers is a bit of a worry for me. Missed loads of games last season and injured again.
