As it’s the international break and there is a lull between games I saw this on the echos Twitter page who would your 5 be? 1. Michut 2. Leaburn young striker at charlton 3. Ryan Hardie Plymouth striker 4. Charlie cresswell/van hecke to rotate and a year or two down the leader take batths place 5. Max bird think he’d be ideal in the midfield
I was reading thag Wolves are going to let Sanderson move on. Wonder if we go back in for him, maybe we have moved on too much but he will have had a full Champ season under his belt at Brum. Michut and Stewart need to get signed on.
Speculation is no bad thing but I would expect that the recruitment team will be already hard at work and I don’t think most of the fans will have heard anything about most of the players recruited , suffice to say the Management are to be commended for what they have achieved over recent transfer windows- long may it continue!!!
I agree, i think we will see a South American or 2 and this U20 tournament might have ha few we look at. I think Scout73 from here was going to watch it in a professional capacity.
Think we need a spot more experience in the squad, together with some height and power in midfield, not to mention the obvious - some ****ing strikers! Assuming we keep the squad together, my list would be: 1. Jan Paul van Hecke (Brighton) [CB] 2. Ellis Simms (Everton) [CF] 3. Carlton Morris (Luton) [CF] 4. Paddy McNair (Boro) [CM] [I know, I know....] 5. Nathan Tella (Southampton) [RW/CF] Of course, all of the above is on the assumption that Burnley go up and don't want Tella back on loan (and that Southampton stay up) Assuming Boro will go up and McNair will be available (he's not set word alight at Boro, but he is quality in the champ as an attacking midfielder) Simms is a no-brainer Be looking to bring Matete back in, then send Ekwah, Anderson, Bennette and possibly Huggins out on loan Not convinced re Pritch, but if he wants to stay I'd give him another year Think we also need an experienced back up to Patterson so we can peddle Bass Patterson [New Keeper] Hume Ballard Batth Cirkin Gooch van Hecke O'Nien Alese Neil Evans Matete Michut Ba Roberts McNair Clarke Lihadji Pritchard Embleton Stewart Simms Morris Loan out: Huggins, Anderson, Ekwah, Bennette, Rigg(?) Sell/Release: Wright, Bass, Diamond, Winchester, Dajaku No chance of that happening, but a bloke can dream.....
It'll be great not having a huge turnover of personal. At the moment, as things stand, I can see us signing a couple of fullbacks. I can see Alese used more in the middle. If we sign Michut and Matete progressed enough then I think we'll be fine in midfield. We must bring in at least one striker. I'd go for a loan signing and then pick up a promising youngster to develope. The last position I'd be looking at is a top quality number 10
I can't see us signing 3 strikers unless they can also play wide. Can definitely see us in for 2, one being a loan and an exciting young prospect.
Two big bruisers in the middle. A big bruiser up front. Stop getting physically bullied out of games and we'll go up.
Take the point of the need for a bit more physicality, but,do you think that if we have a big bruiser up front it will inhibit our willingness to play our quick fire passing game,by giving players an easier option in lumping it up to a big hold up man? Genuine question.
Should be a very exciting window for us. It's great we now have a model, rather than the years of drift. Hopefully we can have a decent end of season to give us that lift for the start of next season.
Don’t think we’ll have a massively busy window nor do we need one Winchester wright diamond will go need to ad 3/4 (2 of them strikers) to the first team and will no doubt be some young lads coming in too main focus has to be keeping the core of this team here
Maybe, but that's something that can be coached and is affected by the players around them. Take Quinn as an example. Used brilliantly in the early years of Reid, then went full long ball as the quality of coaching and player around him declined.
