    He also has the City aura about him which will add to his reputation. Their youth seem to all be seen as future world class players. (they might be right, who knows :D)

    I don't think I'd swap ballard for Doyle as of today given the option.
    They would be a canny partnership in 2 or 3 seasons time imo.

    I'd rather Ballard than Doyle right now as well - but Ballard is 4 years older so not a fair comparison.

    Hard to tell who has the higher ceiling. Also not really that important as i'm over the moon with Ballard. There's always going to be better players.

    Doyle played in a back 3 so always harder to judge

    Think doyle is suited more to a back 3 currently, he still makes a lot of mistakes positionally defensively so helps having 2 other cbs alongside him

    Hes a massive talent for sure

    If I was in a high visibility public role, I'd fully expect my boss to have a list of people to consider replacing me in case i ****ed off, especially if it had happened before and my boss had been caught with his pants down

    Speakman and Alex Neil did not get on either by all accounts. Not a Speakman fan to be honest. I think he’s getting lots of the credit from Stuart Harvey’s excellent work.

    Agreed. Hard to be sure, as Doyle was so young when he was here.

    I liked him, especially given his age, but I was never sure, and I'm still not sure, if he is quick enough.

    Harvey finds the players but he only does so under the direction from above. There's a reason Harvey wasn't signing the likes of Bennette, Triantis etc at Blackburn.
