I am more than willing to criticise the club when necessary, as you know. But I am not seeing much to criticise here.

As a fanbase we aren't used to selling players because most of the players we've had for the last however many years were unsellable, would people rather that?
Or would they rather have us not buy him in the first place?

We sold Stewart, who hasn't even played for Southampton yet, for 10 to 12 million

Bloody good negotiation that imo

Deal for JC not disclosed, 15m could be initial bid but could have gotten an improved one but we'll never know.

Sell on clause is good.

And as been pointed out before, prefer to get a little less today than more on deadline day and not have time to spend it
It’s shockingly poor however anyone wants to dress it up.

in theory we don’t need to sell. The owners are desperate for cash to sign the strikers.

Wonder if his Rating increases on EA FC25 after his move.

He was a 75 for us last season with a potential of 83.

Its not shockingly poor when we dont know the amount thats being paid, how much is in installments, how much is incentives and how much sell on % we get

We now have a good amount (however much that is) to improve the team n squad

As @SourPatch2 said the other day you cant replace clarke with 1 player but you can improve the squad n make us stronger as a whole

Im really excited to see what mundle does

Wilson Isidor’s obligation to buy is €4m

also reading Roker report’s new article on him, the Zenit fan says he was at his best on the wing but says at the end that he would suit being a striker is a faster paced league like ours. Makes me think we will still play him CF here
Not a bad option to have, might be making assumptions but think he’ll play a similar role to broadhead did

Tees mate take no notice of Sour patch, just a mouthy piece, claims he knows loads about what is really going on, so we all await his superior knowledge on transfer news, and the clubs finances.
I can't wait.
Tees keep safe mate.

That's unfair Bob, he's a good poster who talks about football and generally just gives his opinion.

He makes a good contribution to this forum.

£15m won’t go far when we have to give a good proportion of that to Spurs.

We have been weak as water in negotiations however you want to dress it up. £25m most supporters would have accepted. £15m up front is a joke and shows how desperate the owners are for funds to sign a striker and inept Speakman is in negotiating.

It’s poor.
It’s all relative I suppose. I hoped for more but equally Gyrokere went for reported 20 million euros.About 16.5 million pounds and that was regarded as a good fee. A few players go for more than they are worth because of specific circumstances and some are bargains, Clarke was an absolute bargain for us and is now a good buy for Ipswich on the face of it. That’s football.

Totally agree.

It's more about how we use the money rather than what we got for him for me.

You will have seen the X link on here I’m sure, but if you haven’t…..SAFC bought Clarke for £500000 and sold him for £20000000. Assuming both figures are accurate, in what world does that make the sale of a player for forty times the initial value “shockingly poor”?

A decent sell on could be a smart move. If they go down and he does well he could be worth a hefty fee with a proven premier league reputation and even if he went for the same again it makes up the gap in what I think he’s worth if we have 25% sell on. I always say though when a player leaves it’s what comes in that counts. Big week.
