Like even if we state “we are delighted to sign Wilson Isidor, the striker joins from zenit” blah blah blah and have him mention on how he likes to play in his interview etc.

After RLB’s comments saying they’ve been looking at replacements for Jack Clarke as well as the two strikers mentioned it makes me think we will still have Isidor as CF. Who knows tho

The thing is, he could be used in either role if we bring in Simic mate. We would have Simic, Isidor and Mayenda competing for the striker slot and Isidor and Mundle for the LW, giving us much more flexibility across the front 3. I haven't given up on Mendy coming in yet too and we have better options on the right wing now.

That’s just not true. The contract was verbally agreed last week, Jack was happy but was then advised to hang fire on signing it (I don’t know if that’s because Harte was talking to Ipswich in the background).

If the club always knew and expected he’d go this window why were they investing the time and effort in continuing to discuss and negotiate an extension to his deal.

He wants to play in the Prem no doubt but was happy to give us a year to see if he could make it there with us (his ideal scenario) if circumstances allowed. It obviously now seems they haven’t.

Can't take anything for granted so good management by the club in having a contract there for Jack should a move not have materialised. I haven't seen anywhere that there were other Prem clubs interested other than Ipswich,so protection against them changing their mind.

Throwing this out there, when you look at ipswich and their dealing this summer, at the back of my mind I'm quite optimistic that if we go up it would be similar for us with regards to recruitment.

Do you think the club have an idea how much they would make out of a sell on clause and would be willing to spend that money now in order to bring players in?

I think mayenda and mundle were stand outs in preseason in terms of making a mark to RLB. Mayenda has got off to a good start and now mundle will get his chance (I think he looks way better off the left than the right). Still think we need a replacement for Clarke because Mundle/ba/Watson I think is too risky to rely on for the season on the left side. Imagine a mundle hat trick on Saturday haha
