We allowed ourselves to get into the position where we didn’t have a choice
Sorry but it does we were just unlucky that something came up in the medical. Nobody had identified anything previously and he had played well for Liverpool when he was on. This would have been a cracking signing.Absolutely. It’s mind blowing given the overall magnificent progress in transfers.
Danns, now even fit he was a punt so it should never have been a consideration if he wasn’t fit.
I see the logic in the Salis one we thought he could be fit sooner, and he had a great pedigree, Abdullah is fine cos he was to be out player, but the Danns one carries not a stitch of logic.
Tbf mind how many times have we heard this exact excuse for striker signings the last 4 windows haha. Obviously I’m very happy with Isidor and Mayenda. But you want to hope we can get better at tying up a deal for a striker as this is like the third or fourth time we’ve heard “we were trying” then end up with no one or someone who can’t even playMaybe I'm misinterpreting what you mean but by suggesting the club allowed themselves to get into that position would suggest the club weren't trying to sign players earlier in the window to get things wrapped up and not be in that position but things didn't work out. Without being privy to what went on behind the scenes we have no idea how many deals they looked at, who they had genuine interest in and who was papertalk or how far any negotiations went but I bet they weren't happy it went to last minute to sign a injured player as nothing to lose at this point signing.
Which is all I see Danns as, won't have cost club anything unless he got fit. No risk to the club whatsoever.
I agree 100% would be nice not to be in that position in the last few hours of the window but I don't doubt for a second tyre club don't think the same.

the only risk to the club is that we went into the rest of the season with just two forwards. So far it hasn’t cost us but if Isidor and Mayenda both pick up niggles heading into the playoffs it’s a big ask to expect Trey to be ready.
