We have two of the best midfield prospects in the country at the minute mate in Riggy and Jobe. The contracts we have them on are a testament to the way the club is being run. The RLB effect in hunting the ball in packs and the confidence they had to play with it from there was noticeable on Sunday. If we get to the end of this window with this team intact,a new striker in and Ballard and Browne fit, our prospects look very bright to me. Big test again on Saturday....can't wait me.
What really struck me was how Le Bris had Sunderland playing to our strengths and Rohl did the opposite.
I'm far from a tactical person but it was clear how the match was won and lost.
Le Bris has Sunderland playing to our strengths ... energy, pace, passing. Rohl was asking two clumsy defenders to play the ball out and have Bannan at the centre of virtually everything. Sunderland don't have muscle and height so don't try to compete that way, Rohl reverted to packing the box with big lads and hoping for headers. They looked so slow and laboured with everything and I can't remember them getting behind or through us for the entire game.
I actually felt sorry for their keeper, absolutely no chance with any goal after his defence lost concentration time after time.
Wednesday are in for a tough season imo ...
... Le Bris just handed every other team a blueprint on how to beat them.
