We all knew, even if we dared to dream otherwise, that we would only get one season after we lost to Luton in the playoffs out of Clarke. We can debate the fee but, as others have said we failed to get a bidding war going between teams in the PL and that limited the fee.

The injury last season and his form after he came back along with his performance against Newcastle will have make teams think twice about signing him.

I am pleased that his last game was against Sheffield last week and not in the awful last day of the season defeat.

The model will always do this to us. I still think that we are going in the right direction. We have a midfield three in Rigg, Neil and Jobe which is probably the most talented in the Championship, two strikers coming in, Wilson appears to be confirmed by the Tom Hank’s video just put out by the club, and a defence which is looking good.

To all of those complaining, where were we three years ago?

Football now is like the stock market..and players are mere commodities. Saying that, I do think our club are treating our players with a great of respect and giving them every chance to develop. Not sure why we are surprised and disappointed when a good player want to try his hand in the top league. The finances are not only non of our business but the numbers mentioned are nothing more than conjecture which may or may not be accurate.
What happens after this and who comes in should be all fans give a s hit about I fear this is not the case tho

Absolutely nailed it mate, none of our business ... we're supporters, not investors.

People seem to think that paying £30 to watch us obliterate Sheff Wed entitles us to a say in the negotiations.

It's like going to the theatre and demanding the leading man doesn't go to Hollywood for a big film role ...

... and refusing to ever go to that theatre again if his understudy is given a chance <laugh>

That’s the point- if we had owners who would invest in a striker or two we wouldn’t be in this position. We could play hardball and hopefully a bidding war would take place as nd we get a good price if or clarke or if not we keep the best player in the championship and have areal go for promotion. The lack of investment is the key and it will cost the club more in the long run.

il take the advice and **** off now.
You keep saying, you have been to fook off, but I haven’t seen anyone, say that to you.

I think they’ve recruited well mind. Given how close Luton came to staying up I think they have a great chance.

I think they will catch teams out and score goals, their gaffer is PROPER.
Last season was a bit freakish with Everton and forest docked points. Burnley still had a chance of staying with two games left and had about 23 points

It's a bit late for this tbh, but I was wondering if anyone knows what's happening with the lad we signed from Leipzig, Elias Lenz

A mate mentioned at Easter that Leipzig were refinancing and letting a dozen under 20's go.

This lad is supposed be to a real prospect, 6' tall, good on the ball and an 'organiser'.

But since he's arrived I haven't heard a word about him.
Think he’s played some minutes for one of the age group teams but like you not heard much about the lad since he signed

The 23-year-old forward has moved to Wearside on loan for the 2024-25 season, joining from FC Zenit Saint Petersburg. An option to make the transfer permanent following the conclusion of the campaign is included within the terms of the agreement.

Isidor said: "I’m so happy to be here and sign for Sunderland. It is an amazing club with a huge fanbase – and when a club like that wants you, it feels amazing. I didn’t hesitate. It was a natural decision. I always knew Sunderland was a big Club, so I can’t wait to get started and to see the Stadium of Light full. Hopefully, I can get the fans chanting my name.”

Kristjaan Speakman: "Wilson's a mobile and athletic forward, who possesses senior experience and a healthy goalscoring record at the top level. We feel he's a good fit with our playing identity and he has the attributes to help the team in forward areas. He's excited to be here and we look forward to helping him settle in."

Sounds to me we will be playing him upfront with the mentions of him being a mobile forward and having a healthy goalscoring record
