And his inability to see what harm it does his reputation and standing. I've been led to believe he cherishes the idea of 'legacy'. He's doing a good job of destroying the good one he had until the sacking of NP.
If only it were that simplistic, Obadiah. I don't believe he said he would remove his funding within 24hrs, simply that he, Assam Allam, would be gone. There is no way he will sacrifice £100m over this, he is far too savvy. He can resign and leave Ehab in control, as that seems the simple way out. He can restructure the finance so he is no more than a money lender, probably increasing his return and minimising our operating funds. He can turn his back on the club and the manager, that may make Bruce open to offers. All-in- all he has a variety of options but the ones that preserve his wealth and his influence (even one removed) are the ones to focus on. Edit: just a thought, but he could be ready to form a new company and leave Duffers in charge - now there's a scary thought.
Who knows? If he does, he has a funny passive way of expressing it. For a while he did the odd interview and photo opp, then when we went up he just disappeared from view. Think he realises he's on a good thing in the background with his 6 or 7 figure salary for doing nowt.
He made NP's job untenable with tight budgets (mobile phones taken off his assistants etc), lots of backroom staff axed etc. Pearson tired of these meddling intrusions and sought a club that would give him the resources a normal manager needs. Barmby was forced into the job then forced out 6 months later with a similar scenario.
Yea that I remember clearly. It was just that NB was the only one who was actually sacked. I do understand what you are saying about NP being put in a position where leaving was a better option than staying.
This seems a good time to point out again that Andy Dawson had to pay £30,000 out of his charity fund for his testimonial because Allam charged him for all the costs of his testimonial game. The only player ever to make a loss out of a testimonial? Probably. This despite there being several other events which made a decent amount of money.
How often do you see him at games these days? I'm informed that he spends most of his spare time in casinos in Leeds.
I believe he slipped under the radar because he will be the new Chairman of Plan B (post name-change refusal), Duffers may have a role below him. Assem Allam will leave, just as he said, but he will never let go of the strings; just the job title.
I remember when Barmby was umming and ahhing about accepting to become our manager when he was still 'caretaker', and we beat NP'S Lesster. NP was interviewed on tv and was asked to advise Barmby what to do. NP pointedly ducked the question but the intelligent among us knew exactly why. How can he say "Take it but it's a hospital pass" or "Avoid like the plague, they will shaft you" in a postmatch interview?
They dont show the owners box much on TV. Once in a while but I am normally just annoyed the camera isnt pointing towards the field and not paying attention to who is sitting in it.
I very much doubt ehab is indifferent as about £75,000,000 of his future inheritance is currently tied up in the club. Success is the only possible way that will be preserved. Christopher Needler cut his losses after years of failure, and though his appreciation and commitment to football was zero, I very mu h doubt he was ambivalent to the family financial commitment the business. The only sensible conclusion from the 'blampey' post above is that it is blatantly written by someone with a chip on his shoulder about a brown person being the most significant real-terms investor in city in history and is willing to peddle biased assumption to support his own sad little interest. IGNORE THE ****, AND ANYONE ELSE WHO HAS TO PERIODICALLY CHANGE PROFILE TO RETAON CREDIBILITY - Isn't that right Reggie?
