I haven't got a problem with some of the stuff your saying, it is crazy for anyone to deny the popularity of football over RL it's simply a no contest. People are quoting figures that cannot be quantified like your 1,000 * more fore the city quote I don't have a clue how that would be proven either way? As for HDM (local rag) you are probably right but that is not the fault of Hull FC's fans is it. The only fact I know is correct is I love my City. I have supported Hull City AFC since the late 60's and have spent bloody thousands of pounds doing so. I also have supported Hull FC for nearly as long and spent a fortune on that too. I started the thread so fellow Hull City AFC fans/supporters could either congratulate or say well done or not for that mater to a team from Hull for getting to the final of the second biggest trophy in RL UK and I don't care how many games you have to win to get there you still have to beat the best to do it... I make no other claims really. Such an innocent thread .....This has actually been the biggest by far of the threads that I have started, makes you wonder why you bother really. Don't answer that
Says it all really, true colours are finally shown ... and we have people on here talking about Hull FC thugs !!!
Just a friendly suggestion , but why not change the name of the thread to; "How about I hope you lose??" ...No pressure.
Everyone loves an underdog. Without a shadow of doubt HULL FC are underdogs for RL Challenge Cup Final Wembley 2013.
In Ice Hockey the teams thugs are called "Enforcers" and fighting is allowed in the game. Once of the main reasons that Ice Hockey is a good watch. Hull Stingrays play in the top league and have a few who are handy with the fists. Lol. Not anymore he dont. Not since i left school actually. Nope. Made up of mainly Leeds - Wigan - Warrington and St.Helens fans i would guess ? Tradition and History. Plus the FA needs all the cash it can get from hiring out the new Wembley.
It's one of the ten core events for Club Wembley members, which is ridiculous, as none of them turn up and they can't shift them on the ticket re-sale site, even though they sell them for less than a quarter of what they charged for them.
Did they ever do it at the old one? It just seems really strange to me, I thought it was a football stadium not a general national event stadium.
It was at the old one too. The only rugby league game I've ever been to was at the old Wembley, but it was a corporate that started in a hotel at 6.00 am and I can't remember a thing that happened. Other than my brother in law falling asleep under a grand piano in a very posh hotel afterwards.
Listening to Mudbank a bit ago, with Hull fans moaning in the queue at the KC about not getting tickets (ever thought about using the phone?). People buying 80 tickets in one go etc. Other grumbles included: no free bottles of water brought out and 'no one has been out to talk to us' It's Thatcher's fault.
I'm sure many different sports will be attracted, if the stadium is appropriate, to generate income to pay off the debt.Eg increased use for NRL,RL world cup, loads of concerts etc.
The Challenge Cup final's been played at Wembley since 1928/29 every year apart from those during WW2 and when it was shut, so it's not a new thing the cup final been at Wembley. There's going to be a statue for RL there too, probably up in time for the World Cup at the end of the year.
Yeah I don't like other sports being played there either really, just never knew about the RL until now.
