Hey suited and booted, who are you calling a newbie.....Big Nose
My first city match was in 1965 - if that makes me a newbie so be it. And went to most home games from then on until I left Hull in the 70's. As has already been mentioned, I live down South so I do not go to every home match. I am a member of hcss and go to all the London games and several further afield. I also go to some home games but generally combine them with a weekend in Hull with family and friends.
I prefer watching Hull City to Hull FC (dare I say it but I even prefer RU to RL) but as I was brought up and lived for the first 20 years of my life, just an up and under away from the Hull FC pitch, the club is dear to my heart as well and was a part of the community I grew up in. School sports days on the pitch, storing bikes on match days, a playground for us kids - does anyone remember the den under the east stand - it was called oxo for some reason? The Wembley appearance is also some welcome nice news about the town rather than all the crap you hear in the press. Many friends and family have been and still are avid supporters so it is a great opportunity to have a good day out in London with some of them and I was not going to the city match what am I missing?
