Agreed. Clapped them off, albeit with a little less enthusiasm on Saturday.Good to hear.
There are no excuses for not applauding the lads off the pitch. No excuses.

Same here, and glad I did after that comment the players were unhappy with the booing after the Plymouth game.Agreed. Clapped them off, albeit with a little less enthusiasm on Saturday.
Yet, some still will leave as their excuse will be the PO home legYou must log in or register to see images

Agreed. Went to roker for 16 years. Watched some utterly awful games, where the crowd just got behind the team regardless. Wish it was still like that. The SOL in its earlier days had a great atmosphere. Hopefully we get one todayThere's been a change in society and that's reflected in football support.
It used to be that ‘support through thick and thin’ was praised and something to be proud of …
… now it’s not uncommon for fellow supporters to mock you for being ‘a happy clapper’ as if you’re being taken for a mug.
Some of the comments I’ve seen about today are quite bitter and nasty … weird.

Absolutely right mate. Spoiled the stadium atmosphere completelyDo you mean before the absolutely idiotic decision to move the 'away' supporters 'out of the way'![]()

Sunderland till I die my arseThere's been a change in society and that's reflected in football support.

Agree Smug. I have always said that I would support Sunderland, even if they played in the Northern League. There's been a change in society and that's reflected in football support.

My support is unconditional and I am not sure how that is now seen "bad"

It isnt bad at all mate. But as someone who chooses to leave early sometimes, for personal reasons, I am lumped into 'early leaver category' that on here is depicted as some kind of second class fan.Agree Smug. I wonder how these super fans, who stay till the end at home matches, would have gotten on working shift work back in the day. My Dad used to work night shift but always went to night games and took me as a bairn. We had to leave about 15 mins before the end to make his shift. Nobody said anything about it in those days. Supporters werent so precious as they seem to be now.

Agreed, embarrassing when they troop out on the 80 odd minutes fire drill.Absolutely I will be there. Those who won’t or will give the, stick shouldn’t bother going!
You can do what you want mate and your choice is yours to make.
