Speaking of leaving early, I have never seen so many go down for a pint / piss at the 35 mins mark. When that lad was injured, proper rush on
Who's given him grief? You should name and shame. But since Felltop doesn't make a big deal of it and posts on here to say he's leaving you probably won't
As you said this morning 'he's a big boy who can look after himself' ... ... he doesn't need you to jump in and protect him as do with LD.
Saying you don't understand why people, who don't need to, leave early is hardly giving anyone 'grief'. It's like when people keep saying 'I got pelters' for whatever ... ... people disagreeing doesn't mean you got pelters ffs.
Do my her in. Now I know some who have a reason. I have had to in the past due to work. Those whose reason is “get home earlier” should just not bother! I don’t begrudge those who have family or work reasons, as I do occasionally (although will have a lot less next season as I’ve found somewhere I can get home quicker from to park)
I never have nor never will leave before the end of a game, and win lose or draw, I will applauded the team off the pitch. I have said many times on this forum, what others do is their business and nothing to do with me unless it has a direct impact on me. On numerous occasions I have asked people blocking my view to either go or sit down to allow me to watch the game and to be fair to them they have always moved and apologised. I can honestly say that I never noticed the smattering of early leavers at Roker Park, I am sure there must have been some, but that was never on the scale that happens at the SOL. Let’s not kid ourselves, the 80 minute evac looks awful and must have an adverse effect on the players. If you are happy with that then so be it, but no one is being precious by commenting on it, they have as much right to call it out as others have to defend their actions.
I'm just gonna put this out there and have done with it. I haven't got a season ticket because I had to give it up cos of the job I'm in 15 years ago, before that I had a season ticket for 20 years - and yes I'm proud of that fact! Me and the grandson stayed back yesterday and clapped the team on their lap, no argument from him at all which surprised me slightly considering the result
I never had a season ticket until 2013 because of playing football and shift work, although I once worked it out that I regularly spent more, over a season, purchasing match day tickets than the cost of a season ticket
Used to do similar mate. Probably went to 13/14 games a season due to playing footy myself. I always said it's pointless getting a season ticket as I knew I wouldnt make every game however it probably did end up costing more. Got my season card 2015 after my ankles finally gave way.
In my 20s and 30s Sunderland was the be all and end all - I even wasn't interested in the lasses that supported the mags! (Sad I know now!) When I got married into a ready made family and into the job I do now, my thoughts changed and I grew up. Football was still important to me but I learned what having a family meant to me. Either watching the grandson playing football or spending time with him watching the lads means everything to me these days
Me and my mate had a season card for ages, but missed a few games one year so decided to pick and choose games. We went to them all anyway but couldn't get tickets to the league cup final against Man City! Never missed a season card since, including through COVID
Why do you feel the need to say if I am happy with that? At no point have I suggested I am happy if there is a negative impact on the players.
Had one since 2013 Daz and will renew until I shuffle off this mortal coil. Because of work and my own football, I never got to a Wembley final until the play off final against Wycombe, where I believe I was sitting behind you and your dad
