The sooner we tell Brentford to ram it, the better. Gray only scored 18 goals in 50 appearances, which is definitely not worth the £8.5m + £2m in add ons. You would expect him to be 21 and had scored 25 goals last season for that price...

(I bet the tribunal dealing with the situation with Ings to Liverpool will set his price lower than what Brentford are asking for Gray)
Maybe we already have, and presumably that's why there's a current statement.

They're asking for £7m, they've been asking for £7m since day one and we're not going to get a better striker than him for that money.

We should either **** or get off the pot.

I just wonder is Gray coming in dependant on Hernandez going out. Can we really support two £7-£10M strikers (and their wages) in the Championship?

The fact that we did already make a couple of biggish bids suggest it isn't, though there's a chance it's restricting how high we go with those bids.

I think we though Hernandez would be gone and I am pretty sure we need to shift another striker before we commit to another contract.

I can't see it being about the small change now.

I think we have lost out on the Italian clubs choking on the 9 million euros fee.when we started bidding he looked a goner and I reckon it's more significant that some think.

Take 5 million sterling to get half the money back, open the door and give him the biggest kick up the arse as he walks through it then slam it shut..... job done.
