Carroll is miles better than Bendtner. He wins everything in the air, works better with a team, knocks down well, and is just a far more dangerous, physical threat.
Plus Carroll is a lot better on the ground and technical than most people give him credit for.
He's not one dimensional.
That seems a little bias Tash. Bendtner, it's true, is a signing we all laughed at, and some Sunderland fans moaned about. However, he has come through the Arsenal ranks and is just as comfortable as Andy with ball to feet, if not more so.
As for aerial threat, the Euros showed he is capable in that department, though I'd agree Andy is better.
Finishing wise, Andy is possibly the most raw striker I have ever seen in this department, and I think Bendtner is better at present.
They pretty much play the same role, and are about as prolific as one another really, so do you fork out £20 million for greater potential, or closer to £3 million for someone who'll do almost as (or just as) good a job in the meantime? That's my view of it. Evidently it's inconsequential, because Gold and Sullivan are going to make *West Ham* the next Real Madrid

. Whore!
