That seems a little bias Tash. Bendtner, it's true, is a signing we all laughed at, and some Sunderland fans moaned about. However, he has come through the Arsenal ranks and is just as comfortable as Andy with ball to feet, if not more so.

As for aerial threat, the Euros showed he is capable in that department, though I'd agree Andy is better.

Finishing wise, Andy is possibly the most raw striker I have ever seen in this department, and I think Bendtner is better at present.

They pretty much play the same role, and are about as prolific as one another really, so do you fork out £20 million for greater potential, or closer to £3 million for someone who'll do almost as (or just as) good a job in the meantime? That's my view of it. Evidently it's inconsequential, because Gold and Sullivan are going to make *West Ham* the next Real Madrid <laugh>

    It's not Bias at all.

Bendtner is definitely the better finisher, and he's a better striker of the ball than Carroll.

But overall, Carroll is definitely the better buy if you ask me.

He works harder, works better with the team, is more consistent in terms of performances, and is much better and winning headers, out-muscling and challenging players physically, and knocking them down accurately.

Bendtner has a bit more skill on the ball and is a better finisher, but Carroll is IMO much better.

Bendtner rarely plays with fire or passion. Carroll always does.

Agreed, Bendtner just thinks he's the worlds greatest without moving. If I was Sunderland manager(and Carroll wasn't a former Mag and this deal had a snowball in chances hell of going through), I'd buy Bendtner and any of the pacey strikers they have been linked with, instead of blowing it on Mandy.

Pretty fair though Tash, that <ok>. Whore!

    Fat **** ;)

But in terms of bang for buck, if they were both available for the same price, Carroll would be the better buy IMO.

Oh yeah, of course, I wouldn't spend £15 million on Bendtner! I'm not insane, or Mr Tiote!

I fail to see how Greggs has any real consequence to the number of illegitimately conceived children. Major factors would obviously have to include cultural and philosophical attitude shifts in line with the development of Western science, which have rendered religious marriage ceremonies redundant to some, as well as larger urban populations and the migration of different customs and values. However, I suppose it is reasonable theoretically to note the concurrent and parallel development of fast food chains and the media-sensationalized obsession with "instant gratification", which is promoted as reflecting the lazier or more lackadaisical attitudes towards life we are now supposed to have, entering post-Christian stoicism. Surely a well-informed individual like yourself will provide a schematic overview to your understanding of the issues you've promoted, beyond any numbskull interpretation a thick, sarcastic Geordie like me would be able to put forward? If so, please share. I'd also like a copy of the figures you're working from, sounds like a fascinating and detailed study you've been doing...

Yeah, 17 million apparently. I thought he'd be up for joining Nolan and getting first team football. And if they can pay Ravel Morrison £60K a week, he shouldn't have too much of a problem surely?

Agree mate but reckon it's more to do with him thinking he deserves a 'big' club. But just imagine the bother he could get into with Nolan in London!:)

    <laugh> Probably!

I'm not sure he has too many options at present, because nobody above Liverpool last season would touch him (except us, but then again we're about the same level on the pitch at the moment). Pouchy mentioned a trip to Italy might do him good, and I agree, but whether the Italians are really interested is the question. AC have made a fortune recently, so maybe them. Otherwise, it's slim-pickin's seemingly, so no wonder he's expressed a desire to stay at Liverpool and collect that £90K a week!

I certainly don't think West Ham would do anything for his England career or personal life, but that's my opinion.

Carroll is definitely a better bed all round, but to say he's better on the deck is ridiculous.

Your a good lad Tash, but sometimes I honestly think you have never watched football, ever.

Carrolls touch is heavier than a cross channel ferry, Bentdtner's is excellent.

Positionally, Carroll is quality Bendtner is ****, that's all it is.

Carroll better in air, yes. Marginally though.

To be fair to Tash mushy, he's not really said Carroll's better on the ball than Bendtner, just that Carroll's touch is often taken as bad based on his appearance, rather than his actual ability. I think that's a good point, in all honesty, because he is better than the average lanky-lad who gets the "not bad touch for a big lad" cliche... You have a good point about position, but sometimes Carroll is weak at attacking the box (and sometimes just stands outside it like an AM, while Bendtner's attacking movement can be quite good at times.

I take it you'd love Bendtner back, anyway?

I'd take Carroll in a heartbeat. Bendtner can be just as good, but only when he can be arsed. If Mandy can overcome the mag antipathy I would cough up £15-20M for him.
