The problem with loans in my opinion is it is slim pickings in the prem u21s. I just struggle to see stand out options there. We may do a deal with an Ipswich for a more established option, like Broadhead, in a deal with Clarke, but not convinced any of the under age players are what we need as 1st choice.

I still think the club are missing a trick by not pursuing other championship sides players. I could name 3 or 4 who I think would fit us and be achievable this window. It seems a bit of a blind spot this striker chase so far.

We won't spend the money needed for other ready-made championship strikers, without making a sale first. I just can't see it.

I think our hope is that somebody like Cannon or Stansfield become available on loan and then choose us. But if either of them become available, there will be plenty of clubs in for them, possibly all offering more dosh.

A few names who I dont think would cost the earth mate.

Emile Reiss
Josh Coburn
Ryan Hardie
Joe Gelhardt
Obafemi Martins
Josh Maja

All make us instantly better. In my opinion. If we have to sell to make one of these deals happen I am a bit disappointed to be honest. All have to be in the £2-£4m bracket surely. Maybe Martins wages high.

Some of those SHOULD be available for £2-4m.... but they just won't be in today's market. I can't see West Brom, Boro or Leeds selling us a striker right now, Why help out a divisional rival?

And Hardie, maybe, earlier in the summer. But again Plymouth would know we're desperate and would hate to sell once the season starts.

And, frankly, I think £2-4m is a bit of a misnomer as I don't think we'd spend £4m on a player without selling big first.

I must admit Mr Optimistic here is beginning to shake head in disbelief at times as we seem to struggle to get things over the line at times

Either pay for mendy or move on, I hope to god we have alternatives and we don’t get desperate in the next couple weeks. A loan from the prem would just be the same profile as EM, young and inexperienced. Not whah we need imo

We have to be patient like. No excuse if it goes beyond summer window, but got a few weeks like. We need the right player like, even if it means waiting

I think if we don't get Mendy we'll get no one. To be fair Mayenda looked all right in his cameos last season so reckon he could do ok with a run in the team.

Think Wolves may come in for Clarke. I know they usually don't shop in the English markets but I think he'd be a good Neto replacement as he has similar attributes.
