Is he? I know they said they were building his fitness up and he wouldn't play until that had happened. Has he had another setback?

Had a set back in training and hasn't featured in any of their pre season games. Should be fit by end of September but will he be the same player?
I love him but he’d be too big a risk to pin our hopes on

There's 3 weeks left, just chill til then. If we don't have one by the end of the window then I'll be fuming as much as anyone. Nows not the time to hit the panic button.
We've agreed a fee for Mendy with there old owners, which looks like peanuts, now the new owners have knocked it back. We'll just be haggling over him atm. Mendy will boot off and be here by the close of the window imo.
If it's not Mendy, it'll be someone else from a foreign league that will come in. More than likely France. Just look at the profile of striker we've been linked with recently (Mendy, Ugbo) we're not getting that in England for the price range we're shopping in.
If anyone can be arsed I'd be looking in the French/Belgian/Austrian leagues for potential forwards, because that's where they'll come from imo.

People are nervous because the season starts and we are still light up front. It's pretty natural really as this has been such a long saga. You can support the club but everyone will be thinking here we go again
and from what some are hearing there isn't really any other irons in the fire either
The club have been great at keeping things close to their chest for at least a couple of years now.
I think it’s natural to worry. The only fact we have is that no striker has been signed.
I might have done that first couple of transfer windows, but after 2 yrs/4 windows now not confident we'll do anything differently.
