Looks to me like we had a deal in place with the previous owner which was a very good deal for us, Mbappe has taken over and Caen now wants more money because they aren't in that much financial trouble anymore. Move on.
Not that at all. The club has to be self sustainable - it's not about being "skint" or the owner "Not wiling to spend". How many times man?
Really hope not. Had a couple of good years at Rangers. But last two years he's either been injured or not interested. His injuries are only the half of it he has been very poor. This would be another Will Grigg signing.
To me it reinforces my belief that we should be looking to sell someone. I don't want the owner to fund transfers when we don't need them to. The self sustaining stuff the club have been big on recently only works if we are making money though, which we aren't. Boro are having on paper a cracking window and that is being funded by player sales. Norwich are already spending the Sara money. Bristol City have spend around £6m on two forwards because of the Alex Scott sale last summer. Until we bring in some money we will have to continue to shop in the bargain section, unfortunately.
Seen a twitter exchange in french which suggests caen want to keep Mendy now and are unhappy with our offer. God knows what's happening but if that's to be believed we are surely getting to the point where we have to explore other targets
We need a big sale, Clarke for example, before we spend decent cash on a striker. Nobody forthcoming with enough cash for him when the likes of Sarr, Brereton Diaz etc have gone for less.
They want €4m potentially a bit more, from the things I've read. We want a deal for less than half of that. My guess is we'll meet somewhere in the middle on deadline day.
There’ll no doubt be the PL loan lottery ahead. Sometimes you get Amad or Evans, sometimes you get Burstow.
Fair assumption, which should drive down the price more. Leaving Caen foaming at the mouth and refusing to sell out of blind hate.
