Yes, that seems the most likely scenario. While Acun couldn't just click his fingers and pull out whatever the club cost in the end, it's very likely he can afford a few million in fees. The Corendon Airlines sponsorship was pretty substantial, plus there are others in the pipeline with media companies that will further increase revenue.
I suppose a relationship with juve would massively help as the feeder club doesn't usually pay any wages of the loanees. Free players basically.
Yep, it would also boost our profile in Italy. If you're gonna pick an Italian club to buddy up with, you can't really do much better than Juve.
It'll be interesting to see the balance sheet when accounts are published. But a top 10 playing budget is 25m + and most contracts are 3 years. Without a huge increase in matchday/merch/sponsorship income it's not going to cover it overnight. We could easily spend 13m a year over income with the transfer policy we are seeing, hence the FFP concern.
I'm sure they don't, but I do feel some are underestimating the level of investment that the owners appear to be committing to.
Perhaps, but the sponsorship income will never be revealed until the finances are announced and I think the increase in memberships will help offset that too. Greaves will no doubt go in the next season or so, Fleming will probably go too and that money will offset the FFP. If the likes of Sinik, Allahyar and Oscar do well, you could also see a massive return on them too. It seems like we're aiming for the PL in the next two seasons, there hasn't been an announcement from the owners saying we'll piss the league (players don't need that pressure!) so there's obviously no immediate rush for promotion, but it's quite clear we're building a squad of talented players to get us up in the very near future.
Sounds like a load of bollox to me. Signings / spending weren't even dependent on selling KLP.; he could have still been here.
If someone has the money to pay back a loan but is stopped from doing so until the sale I presume completed, don't you still have the money to pay off the loan and therefore not need to raise fresh funds to do so? KLP going was never in doubt. He wasn't going to sign so we'd have lost money. . Are you (ST) saying the club never offered him a deal and they didn't try to persuade him to stay another year?
Yes, but then you need money to buy players, ones good enough to get you to the top end of the Championship.
You have to wonder what we were doing trying for Muriqi then. There's also got to be question marks why we're going for Nwakaeme
So you're saying the plan wasn't always to pay back the loan when they took it out? You either pay off a loan which you said was prevented or still have the money? And if we're also just spending the KLP money, why the FFP clarification meeting 'to ensure the club remains compliant' or however Baz worded it. Reinvesting funds would be net zero for FFP. Besides I still don't see how 16m transfer income pays for 11.5m transfer fees, a chunk of agents/signing fees and the increase in wage bill as well. Especially. If we're not getting all of the KLP fee upfront.
Nkaweme would be such an absurd step up. Anyone talking about age is chatting rubbish, if we have him for two years it would be HUGE.
Just aren’t believing any of that, with Acuns huge eastern presence and influence coupled with the opportunity to represent turkey in the biggest league in world football (making a significant impact in the western world) I’m retaining my high hopes haha his close friends the kochs aren’t going to let him fail either.
