He's made a bigger contribution, this season, than so called better players like Neil and Embleton imo.

Every manager we've had has tried to do without but always gone back to him.

He's now at the right age to really push on and I think he will.

He's better than Colback who's now a PL player.

I'd be gutted if he left tbh.

That's a good debate there. Be interested to see what the consensus is on this one :emoticon-0100-smile.

I think maybe at his best he's better than Colback, but Colback doesn't give the ball away as much?

He's improved a lot under Neil by keeping it simpler.

He's not called "Passback" for nowt though.

I think with Gooch's style of play and the positions he has been asked to play in, I think it's reasonable that he may give the ball away more.
As you say, he's been a lot better under AN, keeping it simple, more decisive on the ball, and moving the ball on quicker.
At times he can be frustrating, but the lad has been asked to play all over the place, especially under LJ....sometimes playing a few positions in the same bloody game.
I would be sorry to lose him, does more than he is given credit for, imo.

I would keep the Neil version of him too. If we can sign better players to keep him out the team, even better.

i did that was his 1st 2 month, i have admitted i was wrong, should i slit my throat for being wrong about a player?????.
i also was 1st to pass on the fact Rangers wanted him
Of course not, but I’d love you to admit Methven is a Tory scumbag who’s one of the very worst things to have happened to this football club. Your defence of him in the past is an absolute disgrace.

There would be hell on if he went for, say, 7m with 2yrs left on his contract imo. If the 15k a week is accurate then he is worth every penny of that for a new deal.
I definitely agree about the £15K+ wage but I genuinely believe the club would accept a bid of £4M+ this summer… hope I’m wrong, wouldn’t be the first time and certainly not the last. I suppose we’ll soon find out…

Would be absolute madness to accept such a low fee. He’s young, has the right character, knows where the goal is, not injury prone and will only improve.

£4m is like a valuation from 10 years ago.

Agree with everything there, I just don’t trust the club currently to hold out for serious money…
