If he does not get 15 a week he will leave, and I told everyone on rtg that he had been watched since Nov last year and I got laughed at. I spoke to a rangers scout then, and the Morales leaving would trigger an offer.
Easy in today's market and the league we are now in. He should be one of highest paid at the club for me. I think he is class me like.
After the season he has had I'd happily give him 15k a week and a 3 year +1 yr option deal. No problems. If he does the same this year as last year then it's win win and we can review in the summer again.
Aye, he was instrumental in our promotion. Deserves to be rewarded not only that when you get players like him who are untried and unknown at a certain level they need their pay to go up as they prove what they can do. He is the reason not many were arsed about losing Wyke imo. He showed enough in the back end of that season to show he was more than just a replacement but an improvement. He did even better than that early promise though!
We could look at it as reallocating a portion of McGeadys wages to top it up to 15k. I'm sure he was still on a canny wedge throughout the 4years in L1
When me and Mrs Smug went to Pompeii we hid in the one of the dungeons of the amphitheatre at closing time. We came out as the sun was going down and it was magical walking around totally alone. After an hour we were thrown out by hysterical Italian security guards ... .. that just made it all the more memorable.
Same. He seems to be really popular on here and amongst the fan base in general and I don’t understand why. Okay he loves the club but purely basing it on his footballing ability I think he’s been average at best and very poor at worst during our four year stint in the third tier. There were games last season where he stupidly cost us points. Oxford at home for example.
He's made a bigger contribution, this season, than so called better players like Neil and Embleton imo. Every manager we've had has tried to do without but always gone back to him. He's now at the right age to really push on and I think he will. He's better than Colback who's now a PL player. I'd be gutted if he left tbh.
Had the club managed to sell him, as they were stupidly trying to do in January, we would not have went up. He has affected games, made goals, played in numerous positions and improved under AN. Virtually every player we have had is inconsistent at times, which is why we have been in League One, and why the players have been. Gooch is well worth a contract, and will cost money to replace with little guarantee of getting a better or more committed player.
