That's a good debate there. Be interested to see what the consensus is on this one :emoticon-0100-smile.

I think maybe at his best he's better than Colback, but Colback doesn't give the ball away as much?

He's improved a lot under Neil by keeping it simpler.

He's not called "Passback" for nowt though.

I think with Gooch's style of play and the positions he has been asked to play in, I think it's reasonable that he may give the ball away more.
As you say, he's been a lot better under AN, keeping it simple, more decisive on the ball, and moving the ball on quicker.
At times he can be frustrating, but the lad has been asked to play all over the place, especially under LJ....sometimes playing a few positions in the same bloody game.
I would be sorry to lose him, does more than he is given credit for, imo.

I can’t honestly understand how any fan can’t see why he’s not at his best all the time He never gets a chance to establish himself in any position. Probably the most versatile player we have, I would love him to stay.

I would keep the Neil version of him too. If we can sign better players to keep him out the team, even better.

To be fair to Bob, his opinion on a player doesn’t have any bearing on him having some inside info

I can see the attraction for Rangers to be interested in Stewart, and I can see the attraction for a Scot to want to play for Rangers, in Europe etc. I just can’t see Rangers offering the transfer fee that Sunderland would expect for our leading goal scorer!!?? I

Highest transfer fee Rangers have paid in the last 10 years is 6.5m for Ryan Kent from Liverpool. They will have to double that at least before I'd even answer the phone tbh.

Of course not, but I’d love you to admit Methven is a Tory scumbag who’s one of the very worst things to have happened to this football club. Your defence of him in the past is an absolute disgrace.

Banned from over the road again, for 24 hours. Wtf man. Literally can't think of anything I said on there that's deemed out of order. Certainly nothing I wouldn't say on here for example. 24 hours, how petty can you get.

I’d love to agree but it’s wishful thinking mate. The club would be buzzing with £5M+ imo

There would be hell on if he went for, say, 7m with 2yrs left on his contract imo. If the 15k a week is accurate then he is worth every penny of that for a new deal.

I definitely agree about the £15K+ wage but I genuinely believe the club would accept a bid of £4M+ this summer… hope I’m wrong, wouldn’t be the first time and certainly not the last. I suppose we’ll soon find out…

Would be absolute madness to accept such a low fee. He’s young, has the right character, knows where the goal is, not injury prone and will only improve.

£4m is like a valuation from 10 years ago.

Agree with everything there, I just don’t trust the club currently to hold out for serious money…

The 2 stooges have no say at the club now. If Stewart was to go it would be an offer to good to turn down. We are not the same club mate to what we were under Donald and his mate
