Like him or love him, he doesn't tend to stick around very long (Bruce) with the exception of his stints at Birmingham and Hull so he'll either be gone maybe by Christmas or this time next year (worst case) or he'll have done a stellar job and still be with us into 2020/2021 season.

This is of course assuming he takes over, there's too much smoke for there not to be any fire in my eyes so it looks nailed on to me. I won't let any decision that fat ****er makes stop me from supporting my team though....I wouldn't give him the satisfaction. It also sends out completely the wrong message to potential players/owners and future managers, something I think a lot of people overlook in their blind hatred for the fat man.

He hasn't got rich by being nice in my opinion he ain't gonna start now.

I pissed myself when you appointed Pardew and the ****er got you into Europe.

Was fuming.

Ha ha, yeah that didn't last long. That was where things fell apart for us (and him) after that when we failed to strengthen our squad on the back of that 5th place finish. I think we only brought Vurnon Anita in during the summer IIRC. It seems that our self sufficiency in the premier league is such that it allows us to be fairly self sufficient in the championship. Quite how things would pan out were we to be relegated and not come straight back up remains to be seen but our owner seems fairly happy with us treading water every season and dropping down a league every now and then.

If Bruce keeps us up (assuming he's appointed) then it's job done regardless of where we finish. Our league position last season and the season before were off the back of strong finishes to the season after Christmas. It's not a sustainable model and it was boring as **** (and frustrating) to watch at times so at least we have the opportunity to see a different brand of football now which is something to consider, i'll stop short of saying look forward to until I've seen the end product, after which time we can then rightly judge our new manager....whoever that may be.

You know, we had all them ‘great escapes’ and it’s ****ing tiresome.

I’ll never fall out of love with football, god knows why, I understand why some do.

It was almost a relief to go down, maybe not a relief but you know it was almost like the correct thing had happened.

SAFC is so deeply engrained and part of my life that I wouldn’t care if we were owned by a terrorist cell and managed by Keegan, I’d still care, I’d still hope, I’d still be brimming with false optimism for the world to shoot bac down.

It’s ****ed up being a football fan.

Don't tell me that's been sorted out in a fortnight ...
... Benitez had him lined up while he was still at Newcastle man.

What an absolute snake.

This is Newcastle's player of the season as well.

Funny though <laugh>

If Ashley can bring in Joelinton for around the same price he punted Perez I'd say that's a good deal.

He's also got a decent fee for Joselu who was hopeless.

No doubt the Mags will claim Benitez never wanted him and that Joelinton is only coming because he'll benefit from the foundations put in by the 'miracle worker'.

No way on gods earth does Joelinton go there, unless they sell Almiron.

Which they inevitably will...

I love Ashley me like, a genius like him should be knighted, he is keeping Newcastle in the prem on a shoestring budget just waiting for the right deal to offload. you lot should be bowing down to a business megastar like him, he has you nearly debt free, name another club apart from top 8 in a better position, can see it now Lord Ashley of Pennywell.........now that's a Warm Glow.......:emoticon-0109-kiss::emoticon-0109-kiss::emoticon-0109-kiss: for Dirty dogs arse breath.

just posted expect ban in 10mins and counting

Is he any good? I’d never heard of Joeliton before he was linked. Seems a pricey player.

That’s the annoying thing. I reckon I’d be a serial attendee if not for work and stuff. I’ve given it the big one saying I’m done and I won’t go but I just know that if I have a free Saturday, I’ll be there in a flash. It’s stupid and irrational.

From what I've seen I reckon he'd score goals in the PL. I'm a bit surprised someone like Everton or Leicester haven't shown an interest.

Perhaps it was the daft name that put them off.

He's a bit of an Aguero/Costa, tough and determined ...
... much better than Perez imo.

Yeah I’ve never said it, it’s too deep.

Even when I lived abroad I made almost 2/3 of home games, and I had to offset the need for going to the match with going to Malaga (which was no hardship, they qualified for the CL).

I’d only be lying to myself, what you gonna do? Metrocentre? Starbucks? Naa.

Saturday is footy day.

I didn't let Newcastle or Luton stop me, when they banned us. I didn't let the Stanley knife gangs at Liverpool stop me or the organised hooligan firms in London.

So I'm ****ed if I'll let our own team or owner stop me going ....

.... not even David Moyes could stop me <laugh>
