The accusations of people going to the game being selfish is frankly ridiculous. If people went then that was there choice, but they still used the opportunity to protest against the decision both pre match and during the game. I doubt anyone was happy with the restrictions, but there was still a game to be played and 3 points to be won that day. It's impossible to ignore that fact and the people who went to the game did so to support their team as well as protest against WYP. To accuse people of still wanting to support our team in difficult circumstances selfish is stupid.
I wonder how far Jawaid would go keep Ged happy? ... Just downtown? Or all the way up Brokeback Mountain?
What you have written is illogical. Protesting in a march at Huddersfield is one thing, going to the game is a completely separate action and event. By scuttling humbly into the ground under the watchful smirking gaze of the WYP, you rubberstamped their actions. By rubberstamping their actions, they got away with their lies and unjustified actions. If they get away with it, they then set a precedent, and it becomes acceptable (unless challenged in law). Thankfully a concerted legal and civil campaign to use procedures is fighting this battle (too late for us and that game), but a line has been drawn in the sand and now the wider world in this country knows the nature of the struggle. A load of submissive flaskers going through all the hoops the WYP set for them was counter productive for the medium and long term spectating good of Hull City fans. That's why they were misguided and selfish.
That's why they were misguided and selfish Who the **** are you! City Agro Police! The whole point is that we "Hull City Supporters" had the right of choice. You are as bad as WYP but you can't see it can you.
I understand what you're saying but you miss the point that some people still wanted to support their team regardless of the circumstances. I am aware they are two separate events, but the protest itself carried on into the game. I'm guessing you missed the banner in protest in the away end? I know people who went who were pissed off with the restrictions but they knew amongst all the **** that was going on there was still a game to be played. The exemplary behaviour by City fans in attendance also managed to make WYP's decision look even more foolish and inaccurate in their 'concerns' over the game. If people did or didn't go to the game then that is their choice, but it is unfair to chastise them for it.
Yeah, he'd nipped to the loo because he couldn't wait for the adverts at half time and didn't realise you can pause the game. Or of course, he might have been busy protesting online.
There are probably 500 or so who use this method to travel to games anyway. I don't, but understand for them than nothing changed for this game
I know you said Rick has emailed all the nationals but I would have thought sending it to David Conn at the Guardian would be the ideal. He's about the only investigative journalist there is nowadays.
I don't know if this has been posted yet (I've been watching the Tour): http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-23113869?
David Conn has been sent the details by Rick. He's also been sent them by the FSF. And probably by AN and HTSA too.
Disagree as previously stated. The WYP like everyone else know that that the law abiding majority will behave. Nowt was learned by them there- they were not therefore proved wrong. Sometimes it's not what was individuals want, it's what's best in the common interest. In other words to highlight the unacceptable restirctions, a total boycott was the best solution. If someone's proud personal attendance record was dented, tough- there were bigger issues at stake which affected all future attendances.
Instead of spending all your posting time attacking those you don't agree with, Asbo, why don't you reserve your vitriol and energy for the WY Plods? (Or are the wasps giving you trouble again.....?)
But that's only in your view and you're pissing in the wind. The vast majority of Hull City supporters watched on SKY. This view of yours is totally based on your own need for glory. ****ing glory hunting plastic anarchist ****.
I would have loved to have seen a completely empty away stand without a single person in it, that would have got the message out especially as it was being broadcast by Sky! However if you travel on city coaches every week to away games then I can see why you would want to go see the lads play in such an important game at that time of the season so I will not criticize them Personally I think its sickening to think a Yorkshireman cannot go anywhere in Yorkshire whenever the hell he wants to by whatever means of transport he choses to use without being subject to laws that basically presume you are guilty until being proven innocent. If I had been home I would have gone to Huddersfield and walked round the town in my city shirt and watch the game in a pub. Nobody is going to tell me where I can and can't go and what I can and can't wear and on what days I can do it especially in Yorkshire FFS!
I read it all and decided that I would march around my living room in protest whilst watching a DVD of the match called Huddesfiled vs Hully Slity.
So were is this now going? Back to pro and against fans going to the game (which has be done and past) Surely the best best way to move forward from this is to e-mail those that are concerned (MP's WYP journalist) and let it take the right cause. As Mods and friends were pro Boycott (big turn out by the way) I see this thread doing just what the last thread did!, Maybe you should keep it on current topic rather then a old rehash of the Pro and against fans going to the game.
Geordie Pal's up tonite so it's Mordue radgie gadgie and Wylam Locomotion No1. Very nice indeed especially the Wylam.
