Never ever understood the whole the talks remain open and they remain at the table shtick.

Surely all that's left to do is for Brighton to suggest higher and higher numbers until one becomes acceptable.

What the **** are they talking about other than that?

I know nothing about the Watson situation but have the inside track on Jack Clarke, to an extent of course.

I worked for the Duke of Argyle, in Newton Stewart, who's an Ipswich supporter, close friend of the Cobbold family and ex-Eton whose football team was coached by Bobby Robson. He lives in Texas but still involved with Ipswich and we're in regular contact. He's the one who told me, and I posted, that negotiations are complicated but ongoing with a view to Clarke returning to Sunderland. All three parties, Sunderland, Ipswich and Clarke want it to happen but it depends on Kieran McKenna's assessment of his squad, the financial arrangement and Clarke's agreement. There's also the possibility that Sunderland will sign someone permanently or that Watson will leave. All of those things are like the plates of a Chinese juggler ... up in the air, fragile and likely to come crashing down at the last moment.

Sleep well everyone <laugh>

Keep seeing people talking about us needing an experienced striker? Why? No experienced striker will want to come and sit on the bench! Danns sounds like a decent option to me, not that I've seen anything of him.
I just want a quality striker, couldn't care less how experienced they are. I really like the look of Danns, he has the skill set we want/need imo

Thats fair enough mate, by and large its a grim watch! I think some should rewatch it to get some perspective!
I've never watched it mate. I couldn't, I saw a few clips and just couldn't bring myself to watch it I was ****ing cringing too much!

One of the clips was the run out music, which was bad enough Salmon strides being a middle aged raver wannabe was bad enough. But then ya have the young lad slating "dance of the knights" saying its boring. I assume that lad isn't from the area and not a lads fan so doesn't get it. The other three seem to disagree and are even embarrassed by him but are too weak to challenge him on it.

So basically that clip put me off watching it!

I don’t want any striker that signs assuming he’s only good enough for the bench. Most are arrogant enough to expect to be first choice so I don’t buy the “ won’t come to sit on the bench” theory.

Any striker as good, or better than, Isidor won't come to sit on the bench ...

... anyone who isn't shouldn't even be looked at.

Some people keep saying 'what if Isidor is injured' ...

... my answer is what if he isn't or he is then the new signing is injured.

I was at Reading when Stewart was out injured. Simms started and was carried off in the first half ...

... we tore them to pieces, won 3-0 and scored the goal of the season <laugh>

Seen so many on social media slagging the club for not going for Iheanacho, saying he would be 1st choice for us and we lack ambition because we didn't sign him - despite both our strikers this season scoring/assisting more than he did last season

I honestly don't get those desperate for a striker, I think Isidor has proved himself and Mayenda is on is way! If we get an improvement on them fantastic if not we can live with it! It's not like the season we didn't have a proper striker and didn't sign one!

People seem to expect someone to come in who finishes every half chance and knock in Mitrovic numbers!
