We are halfway through the gap between the two windows and I see that there are several comments about what we need in the new year, so it seems like it's time to start this.

Hopefully we’re in a position to strengthen that’ll see us over the line for promotion

15 league games to go until then though, we could be down in the bottom half after an awful run of form

It’s hard to say what we’ll need currently but there should definitely be some money to spend after the Clarke sale, though.

When our squad is fully fit which it looks like it will be soon (apart from the long term injuries), I think we are in a good place, apart from full back. I would like both a left and right back signed. I don't think we can rely on Huggins coming back this season and I don't want to be playing Hjelde at left back, especially in this setup, so we have no depth at full back right now. Will be tricky signings as Cirkin and Hume have their positions locked down so the incoming players will know they are backup but they are definitely needed.

Perhaps a right winger to compete with Roberts. Someone with a more direct style.

Then we need to offload a few. Aouchiche, Ba, Anderson, Hjelde, Bennette could all leave loan or perm, then I'd like to see some of the u21s get good loans. Think we may see some of the players we loaned out in the summer return and be reloaned to places more suitable.

If we continue to perform how we are, there’ll definitely be offers for some of our better players

    Palace back in for Jobe?

If Cirkin remains fit, we’ll 100% receive bids for him

    Top clubs try for Rigg?

Would take a big bid to get any of them in January imo. Cluslbs always want more in that window.

Absolutely. We’re in a good position these days with some serious value in the squad

Just want to get this out of the way now and I promise I won't go on about it as much this window, selling players is not a bad thing. If a suitable offer comes in for any of our players I expect it to be accepted. Suitable being the key word, it's January so it would have to be higher and we look set for a promotion challenge so that adds money on as well. However, if a good offer comes in and we feel like we can improve the side with the money then it's a good thing.

You’re right. Early days but the Clarke sale hasn’t been a massive issue. That can change of course but we’ve done well up to now.

I do expect serious interest in Cirkin, if he remains fit. Top player already and still only 22.

Cirkin still being 22 blows my mind, feels like he's been here for ages. Hope he switches allegiance to Ireland and gets the recognition he deserves.

    Romaine Mundle
    Leo Hjelde
    Callum Styles (loan)

If we’re back in the loan market, hopefully it’s used better than last season.

Think it’ll be a quiet one, let some of the fringe lads go/get minutes on loan, agree we’re weak at full back, we do love a winger so wouldn’t be shocked if we brought in another, priority is keeping our big players here for me

How long until we’re linked with Alex Mendy again?

4 goals in 6 games since his return to the Caen side

As speakman said in that interview much better to have talent that clubs are wanting to buy than payers who knownones interested on. Means we have good players.

In the past we have had players we have had to practically pay other clubs to take !

In terms of ins, feels like we have cracked it striker wise, solid on the left, if injuries are kind to us probably alright centre mid - arguably an extra cdm if the Samed doesn’t emerge, with injuries coming back we’re ok centre back, ok keeper. It’s probably a fullback who can cover left and right presuming Higgins won’t be back, we’re short of or an emerging player on each side and we look a little bit short of depth on the right with Poveda getting injured pulling his socks on.

Quality wise, being really really ruthless it’s the right side where we could improve - goals RM like Mundle’s offer and better at being directly attacked at RB, Hume has lots of pluses but definite vulnerability 1-1. Maybe the defensive aspect of CDM also but that’s maybe covered after Samed’s treatment.
