Would people be happy if we signed Burstow permanently? There is a rough diamond in there I think. Needs to work on a lot of stuff mind. Might be overly positive but I think I would be happy.

I’m also not that arsed about going up and happy to see us build and improve each window.

No from me as although does make good runs our pass to the wing obsessed midfielders dont see, he's not demonstrated anything either at Charlton or here that he is capable of firing 20 goals in en route to promotion. Or even 10.

Mate how the game has changed is barmy. I started at Roker when we cheered tackles as loudly as goals. Now I love a move like that more than anything. I had to do my coaching badges, and I grumbled through them all (not once did we talk about coaching tackling and heading, well heading once but that is a long story). Now I try to just love the game for its beauty. Brazil 82 is my most favourite side, and football in this country is near to that now, and I am pleased.

Last night I spent a few hours with the county FA talking about what should be in the strategy for 24-28, which launches in June. Loads of discussion about how to coach the modern player and the modern child. Lots of exciting stuff too. Some of the stats about participation at 7,8,9 is brilliant and we have so much to look forward to I think. That said there are threats, mainly player and coach behaviour. In the pro game, filtering down. I predict a major change in approach discipline based on last night, appetite and anger is high. Probably for the best too. The game is beaitiful, apart from when players behave ugly.

Sorry, a ramble, I agree we play some cracking stuff. Shame we cant have the odd hefty challenge without 12 blokes demanding the ref overreacts though.

Ramble away mate, always good to hear your opinion on things.

Much better than endless rants about who's responsible for a few banners a month ago or whether Ba is shyte or not. The game is changing but, thankfully, so are the club. I've seen us battle for years, and usually lost, but we now win when we lose imo ... seeing a lad like Rigg come on and dance around Stoke's cloggers was a dream come true.

Was talking to a Forest fan today about Lingaard. I know he seems a bit of dafty, but the lad has talent to burn. The forest lad said he was so good at times it was crazy, but fizzled out. The lad is 31 years old, only. 3 years left at the top if he wants it. I cannot fathom how players like him sit and not play. I look at Barkley at Luton and think good on you, playing, and having a resurgence too. Too many these days seem to drift, mid career, out of the limelight. I dont know, the game has changed and Lingaard is probably set for life. Just imagine though, if he went somewhere and just played natural, he could be a hero at the club forever, and I mean a club like us. Not saying we should, but man there are some players who need to be on the grass entertaining fans.

I’ve had this thought fleetingly as well.

Lads got quality but he’d turn his snout up at championship anyway.

Southampton taking in up to £45million for Alcaraz. ****ing hell

They loved him at West Ham. He seemed to love it there. Surprised he never went back.

This could be the narrative of Marcus Rashford if he doesn't get his act together PDQ

O9 got a couple of shall we say "extremely non conventional" tackles in on Saturday. I had a hearty chuckle at both.

It looked like he elbowed their lad when he was on the floor in the first half. I've not had a chance to watch it back yet.

In that spirit. Spoke to a ref last night does up to league 1. He says we are at a cliff edge. Why be a ref when respect is zero. I have seem great refs retire and no bugger comes through to replace. I hate those who abuse refs. The one person on the pitch who makes the least errors is the ref, every game. Behaviour at elite level is filyering down more than ever. Game will die suddenly if refa do not get more support.

It's starting to feel like Mundle will be the only one in before tomorrow's deadline. That will be 3 windows in a row without a CDM or an oven-ready striker.
Disappointing

I know, I know. Very little comes out of the club these days, but these "surprise" signings are usually ones no-one has heard of. Let's be honest, we need a couple of established players through the door. Those ones generally come with a bit of media chat. What worries me most is there has been zero chat about an experienced CDM. That is the position we need the most
