My argument isn’t about going short or long, just pointing out it’s a very common tactic to have the whole team come up for the corner and becoming more common for the more technical players to be outside the box in case a defensive header sends it straight back out the box so they can create something from it. To answer your question it looks one of the pictures show Brentford went short to Mbeumo to whip it in.
LR has gone. We’ll never know if we’d have improved further had he been retained. He wasn’t sacked because of results. He went because it wasn’t exciting enough. His style of play wasn’t in line with the owner’s expectations, We got Timmy Walter. We were promised “heart attack” football. Fast flowing, free scoring, attacking football, as of yet we’ve witnessed non of that. Timmy had a full pre-season to portray to, & coach, his system to the players. That’s what pre-season is for. The results are largely irrelevant but a steady improvement of team cohesion & individual's fitness are. So far … Pandur has started 11 of the 12 matches. Jones, Mac, Omur & Slater have been involved in all 12. Starting 11 of them (Slater 10) Giles has started 9 of the 12 & played in 10. Mehlem has started every game since his arrival. Miller involved in every game since his arrival. 7 players have started all 5 league games. 2 players gave started 4 & been involved in all 5. Lack of time & new signings isn’t a valid excuse. He has used, more or less, the same team throughout yet we still see non of his unique style of play. Every game is like the players have never met each other. Maybe his style of play is “clueless ****”. In fact Coyle, our most consistent player, so far, was hardly used pre-season. Timmy is a fraud. He needs to go. Many, on here, need him to succeed solely to justify their dislike of LR & are clinging on desperately because of this. Others, without the blinkers, can see it for what it is. He won’t succeed & if he doesn’t then HCAFC doesn’t. People will still support the team, won’t boo (dickheads) & still want success but are honest enough to say it won’t happen with the idiot we have in charge currently. We’ve signed some decent looking players it’s time to employ somebody who can coach them effectively.
Ultimately the owner Many losses and draws (not all) under Rosenior last season were a case of 'small' margins - ifs and buts, but for me a case of tinkering, adjusting and finding the right combination of players and earned luck. In the last three games, the margins have been huge. The blame isnt on Walther yet, more the management's impatience - smashed up and wrote off a Ferrari because the indicators weren't working. Shame really.
Just don't expect a bloke to insult someone from behind a pretend name. No time for it. You don't have to agree with someone but to start calling them names is pathetic. He wouldn't say it to me in person so don't do it from behind your little alias.
He’s not covering himself on glory. Although he may improve this by employing a manager with pedigree.
I don't really care if you're Pep Guardiola, but what we just watched last night was a whole bunch of **** and the only people defending that are those that have alternate reasons for wanting Walter to be a success.
So Mbeumo whipped it in instead of working it back to the deepest or one of the deepest players, cheers. My point being that specifically our tactic of playing the short corner all the way back is doomed to failure. This isn't the first game we've done it and I've called it out in previous games. Playing a short corner all the way back - sometimes all the way back to the keeper - negates the entire concept of the corner. It's daft. Claiming that we conceded because of an error and not because of an intentional tactic is equally daft.
I think we're agreeing? That it was fine margins and evolution not revolution was required. We've taken a sledgehammer to the set up when it just needed a chisel. Yes the loanees went back, but thinking we couldn't evolve the squad to progress this season under LR is bonkers.
