My sympathies lie entirely with the Royal protection officers tbh.

Having been in much lower grade situations I have to say it's sometimes part of the job to turn a blind eye.

I know, for example, one of the posters on here would've been involved in these duties and it's a very complicated role. Your primary responsibility is to 'the principle' and expected to protect them at all costs. Sadly the likes of 'Prince Andrew' would take full advantage of that and expect his protection to cover his sad arse when their natural inclination would be to report him or, at least, decline to help.

In those cases 'Prince Andrew' would immediately contact the officer's superior and ask for him to be removed from duty. So the officer is 'tarnished' and the new man is put into an invidious situation.

That's how it all works so it's good to see senior officers asking their Royal protection officers to consider what they've seen and heard and report it. They'll be reluctant but I hope they do that for their sake and those who come after them.
Excellent post. Totally right and I'm sure in time his Protection officers will speak out.

If it can be proved they are lying then they should be charged as well. Complicit, accessory to the facts. Nobody is above the law.

The Profumo scandal is a lovers tiff compared to this.

I firmly believe in the monarchy, but this individual is the lowest of the low, horrible person who deserves everything that comes his way, hope he rots in jail
You do realise he could easily have been the king if born 1st and totally immune from arrest?
And you're firmly believing in that system - haway vic9 have a think about it.

Its genuinely horrendous what has apparently taken place on that island and in other places.

Will the truth ever really come out for what was an active member of the Royal family. I guess not, but as has been said "normal" people have been put in awful situations and i hope they speak out and justice is served

I really don't think the whole truth will come out as long as Trump or Andrew are still alive unfortunately, especially the latter.

He seems to have an excessive amount of power, even for a president, and he's the one that should be the main focus for any investigation. It's like he's untouchable.

Only hope is that someone internal gets so angry by it all they leak the full unredacted papers

For those who are hoping that this all leads to the end of The Monarchy, can you at the same time say what you would replace it with.

Keep in mind please the examples that The World provides, of other Country's leaders.
Trump, Putin, Netenyahu all 'elected' leaders.
And of course we have our own Prime Ministers, who with a different constitution might have been 'Head of State'.
Blair, Johnson and Truss are just the most recent examples.

Lets not throw the Baby out with the bathwater.

We can get rid of Blair, Johnson and Truss, this lot…

We certainly need a very much reduced monarchy at the very least.
