Of course, but it’s also possible that we beat Everton and Swansea, Palace beat Stoke, Bournemouth also beat Swansea, Huddersfield lose all their last 3, and then the Swansea v Stoke match is irrelevant to us, as, indeed is how we get on against City.

We wouldn't even need Palace to beat Stoke. If we win two games, Stoke can do whatever they like; they won't be catching us.

True. In which case, they can beat Swansea or not, and the third spot depends (probably) on Huddersfield beating Arsenal.

You can see the difference, Stoke are organised and so are palace, but Stoke have no quality whereas Palace have 3 or 4 good players. Similar to us, no real star quality and that's not good enough over the course of the season.

The set of results that WBA require really is quite something:

Stoke to draw or lose to Palace
Us to lose to Everton
Swansea to lose to Bmouth
WBA to beat Spurs
Us to draw Swansea
WBA to beat Palace
Stoke to beat Swansea
Us to lose to City

If all of that exactly happens (well, Stoke drawing or losing to Palace means it isn't totally an exact set of results), then WBA survive on GD ahead of Swansea, by one point ahead of us, and either by one point or on GD ahead of Stoke.

All the best, WBA.

(Or we could draw Everton, and lose heavily to City, such that WBA's GD improves ahead of ours)

Well the first half has happened (as based on the alternative option in brackets). Now for the second half.

Unfortunately, Stoke failing to draw today means that the four of us can't now all finish on 34 points.

It's a five goal swing that WBA would require on the last day btw, between us and them, given those circumstances (given that a draw on Tuesday would obviously mean no change in our GD).

A five goal swing is actually a realistic possibility, unlike the ten-plus goal swing that Swansea would require, should we win on Tuesday.

Going to Los Gigantes as we hit the hottest week of the year, yeah great planning! <laugh>

And, our results follow, its what they do.

There's no escaping. -Right, I'm going to work now, to escape thinking and talking about football. Amen.

On another note, if Swansea go down then us and West Ham will have the joint longest stay in the PL outside the top 7.

Mental that really, are they days of decade long stays over for smaller clubs?
