I saw a BBC4 thing in the week which said the biggest crowd ever at the Pyramid stage was in 1994 for The Levellers, an estimated 300,000.
Proper.
Saw The Levellers last year at a festival - reckon there must have been about 1200 there max!!!

It's why I love this particular group stainesyGreat to be amongst such music aficionados tonight. Saw Siouxsie and the Banshees 24 years ago at The Shepherds Bush Empire....I know it was then ‘cos we had to sit down as my ex mrs was heavily pregnant with my first born.
It's why I love this particular group stainesyIncidentally you used to have a signature which was the chorus of a song by my favourite band - and they're still going strong after 35 years.
Men they couldn't hang
A great band.Men they couldn't hang

It’s just a joy to see a bunch of old geezers who are masters of their craft, clearly love what they are doing and have done nothing else for all their lives yet obviously retain complete enthusiasm for it. Especially if the singer is a porky bloke wearing dodgy make up, who writes timeless songs.Isn’t it strange how Stormzy, who I actually quite like, got all the plaudits from the press and politicians for his Friday night headline set, and these guys will get **** all praise from the self same press ‘cos they aren’t ‘cool’ anymore.
Glad there are a lot of proper music lovers on this board.
Sounds good - and obviously more than happy to buy you a beer if you're ever at the Men in LondonWe should all try and do a gig together, travel permitting.
Something most can agree on....I’m up for a majority decision and willing to try new things.
though perhaps we should all go to Belahouston Park and crash round @Steelmonkey house...Sounds good - and obviously more than happy to buy you a beer if you're ever at the Men in Londonthough perhaps we should all go to Belahouston Park and crash round @Steelmonkey house...

Funny to see a band at the absolute height of their powers when they're all either in or approaching their 60s!They really look like they're having a great time up there

Nice one. I would hazard a guess that those Siouxsie gigs were at least 40 years ago.
