Just turned on, have they played my old favourite ‘A Forest’ yet?
You are 100% on mate, cheers.
And on this performance the Cure should have headlined Woodstock and the original IOW festival. Outstanding.
I was at my Nan’s house in Bognor when it was on. I’d swear you could hear it.I was talking to my mates brother who was at the second ever IOW festival where 700,000 hippies turned up, fought the police and where Jimi Hendrix played his last ever gig (along with The Doors, The Who and other legends of music).
I was in awe and wanted to know what it was like to be at a festival that truly went down in history......turns out he could remember **** all about it ‘cos he was off his face on acid for the whole week.....![]()
This is the best ever song to be driving late at night to.Here we go!!
Neil Young’s endless version of Rockin in the Free World is about my favourite Glastonbury moment though.Seen the Cure many times, always note perfect and often long sets. I think they make a great headline act. For me, far better than Neil Young, Brian Wilson or the infernal grunting and growling of Springsteen. As for Stormzy, I’m fifty and am just about able to relate to De La Soul and Grandmaster Flash. All the Rap / Grime thereafter to me, seems to be totally devoid of musicality and much talent. Must be an age thing. My father said the same of my music taste as a teenager.
Anybody else think Shake Dog Shake is a slowed down Motörhead track?
I miss Lemmy.
Saw them at Hyde Park last year. They were beyond immense and they are tonight. Always said they were seriously underrated so glad they're getting a real showcase tonight.Bellahouston Park in Glasgow - part of the Summer Sessions up here, fab support too - Mogwai and Twilight Sad. Then Foo Fighters the following night!!
It'll be their first gig in Scotland for 27 years. Never thought we'd see them so flew down to London a couple of years ago to see them at Wembley, and now they're playing just down the road!!

I've seen them many times. They regularly supported siouxsie before they got big. It was a real win win those nights.
I saw a BBC4 thing in the week which said the biggest crowd ever at the Pyramid stage was in 1994 for The Levellers, an estimated 300,000.
Proper.
