8 episodes in and not disappointed. Something I actually look forward to watching and can’t wait to see the next episode as soon as I’ve finished the last one. If you liked The Sopranos, then you’ll love this. Gritty, violent and the best tv you’ll watch in years.
Just watched the final episode of "The Looming Tower". It was absolutely compelling, moving and brilliantly done, interspersing real footage and the dramasised versions. One of the best series I've seen. Amazing that it has flown under the radar on BBC2. A must see imo.
It's a drame, supposedly based on real accounts, documents and testimonies etc. The CIA lied to the enquiry to cover up their complete ****ishness towards sharing intelligence, which, had they done, would have undoubtedly prevented 911. Unfortunately it appears that the whole series isn't available on catch up/i player etc.
Cheers. Roll on the promised BBC/ITV version of Netflix where they promise to house the entire archive of programmes they have made/broadcast.
The looming tower is on Amazon too, if anyone has it. I assume it's the same series. Another I've not got around to watching yet though.
Very good - seen them a couple of times, he knows how to work a crowd....just turned over to watch the Chemical Brothers set - WOW!!! What a light show!! Saw them at Glastonbury in 98 and 99, and at T in the Park about 8 years ago, always brilliant.
Yeah, he was good today - smashed out loads of Smiths songs - Morrissey would've been squirming in his vegan hell
Mrs bought me a pair of Port Sippers last week for my 50th...... ****in brilliant!! Received about 5 bottles of decent Port and am working my way through them, but these glasses add a fun dimension to getting wrecked!! Either drink from the glass or through the handle/straw - oh what fun
Nice touch by Chemical Brothers at the end of their set with a picture of Keith Flint on all three of their huge screens....RIP Keith
They are good live, but I’m not really a fan, couple of decent songs on the first album. But I can’t really get past Flowers’ very public Mormonism, and his Las Vegas persona, which is silly of me really. It’s not his fault he was born into all that. I’m also not really a fan of the Chemical Brothers, but their set was great.
Here he comes! Big Robert Smith, one of our own, going to smash it on the Pyramid Stage! Can"t wait, am seeing them in August.
