My mates over there at the moment trying to get home from a short break
Says it’s a bit scary
The more the Country is thrown into chaos by people seemingly trying to "disrupt" the event, the bigger the chance of the real terrorists finding a gap in security.

It's an extremely worrying situation and another kick in the teeth for democracy and the right to watch an event that is moulded into our upbringing.

Hopefully your mate is out of there as we speak:emoticon-0148-yes:

I'd say the attack on the French Railway system was already a real terrorist attack, i love the Olympics and Athletic events in general but this doesn't bode well at all.

"France's transport minister has confirmed that a number of incendiary devices have been found by authorities investigating the cause of major rail disruptions across France.
In an interview with French broadcaster TF1, external, the French transport minister Patrice Vergriete says "des engins incendiaires" (incendiary devices) were found but refuses to say who might be behind the attacks on the rail network.
He describes the attacks as a "criminal act" and the security forces are on high alert.
Meanwhile, French broadcaster BFMTV reports that an incendiary device was found in Marseille in May on the LGV line when the Olympic torch was in town, according to a police source"

No it doesn't bode well - also, nothing happens in isolation in a globalised world. What happens in France will spread around western Europe.

Modern times. I'm reminded of the tabloid ****e for weeks before London 2012 telling us the opening ceremony would be a disaster and national embarrassment, the Mail ranted about Teletubbies et al. On the day it was THE best opening ceremony ever and won't be bettered. :emoticon-0125-mmm:
