If we can get a left-back in this afternoon, I'll be more than happy for Conger's to pick his bonus this window. A bigger bonus if he can offload some as well.
Thats a fair point mate. They were given a shot in the PL and, with us at least, it hasn't worked out for them. They might have done better at another club.
Liverpool defender Tiago Ilori has emerged as a target for Premier League rivals Sunderland, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club. Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat is keen to bolster his squad before Tuesday's transfer deadline and is considering a swoop for Portugal Under-21 international Ilori.
This would be an awful signing. Thankfully the attention on this deal seems to have moved from us to Aston Villa
Some interesting developments on the Jose Enrique situation - with sources in the Midlands claiming that West Brom are becoming increasingly concerned that they might miss out on the full-back because he would prefer to join Sunderland. The Baggies thought they had their man earlier this morning, with Liverpool happy to move on Enrique, who moved to Anfield in a £7m transfer from Newcastle in 2011. please log in to view this image However, Sunderland's failure to persuade Tiago Ilori to join them on loan prompted them to inquire about Enrique. The Spaniard was effectively presented with a choice between Sunderland and West Brom - and hopes are rising that he will plump for the former.
I'd wish them well, and thank them for their efforts for the club. Brids first game for SAFC still runs through my head. Happened to be against the scum BUT they aren't good enough, and are sucking up wages - which has already been confirmed is what is holding us back. We cannot afford passengers. Brids, Buckley, Mav, Roberge, Graham and Fletch have to go so we can progress. And i think the majority have seen enough to trust DA and Congers with the money, so we want the best we can get. This can't happen with them on the books. edit: Meant to quote clockstander, which was in your reply!
✔@mickygray33 Enrique or alonso have been suggested for left back. I would go along with that.. Both solid defenders that can also do well offensive #dafc 11:04 AM - 1 Sep 2015 1010 Retweets 1717 favorites
Calling Ellis Short a liar and now suggesting we should be in for Enrique. He's rapidly going downhill in my estimations, I thought he used to talk quite sensibly. Now I know he can be a right tit.
My respect for him went when he borrowed himself into a little hole instead fessing up or standing by his comments.
He did indeed. That makes no difference. Talksport like controversy, Micky is on their payroll and with strong ties to SAFC. I reckon it's nailed on that he was guided as to what to say.
Since he spoke out though, Short made a statement, and we have signed 2 more quality players. Do we know that he didn't force Short's hand? He certainly rattled him, for him to make a statement and ban then rescind a ban from the stadium. Maybe if a random Talksport presenter says it, no effect, but when it's a bit of a club legend, Short has to respond. I didn't agree with it and still don't to an extent, but maybe, just maybe, that got us Ola & Fabio.
I think the Results, performances and Dick had all that in hand. All I think Mickey Gray did was force the statement.
We will never know mate, like I say, and like you say it hasn't endeared Micky to myself or a lot of people, but I on't think it's harmed us as it happens.
Really? I don't think the bad press will have made Congertons job any easier. Could turn out to be a blessing like Ola instead of Guzman. But I bet Congerton's head has been farting.
